The staff's attitude is good and the food is good, but the customer base is the worst. There are many Hijikata from nearby sites. Talking loudly in your room or in public spaces, opening and closing doors and sliding doors with loud noises, walking in the hallway with a thud, staring at you in the dining room, etc. I can't list them all, but there are a few things you can do to avoid being around others. There are many customers who have bad manners and don't care about the noise that can be prevented by being careful. Nervous people should avoid it.

I stayed at a ryokan several times during my “travel around Japan” and this accommodation included dinner and breakfast! Huh! Is it okay to be this cheap? I'm impressed 🤗 The food was good, the facilities were great, and the staff were very helpful.Thank you very much for your kind and courteous service, and I think we will have a pleasant trip 🙏

My husband and I stayed here the day before the Toyako Marathon.Hotels around Lake Toya are soaring and sold out.I had no choice but to stay at Nishiki Ryokan, but I was completely satisfied with the atmosphere of The Showa Ryokan. The entire building is well-maintained and clean, and the rest corner has a good amount of manga, hot water pots, and various powdered drinks. Also, in one corner of the hallway, there are Showa games such as Othello.Breakfast was also delicious at 6:30.So, the discount for two people per room is 4,500 yen per person, which is very reasonable. The female staff was also kind and polite.Since it is a wooden inn, you can hear various noises, so it may not be suitable for those who seek silence. There are also restaurants nearby, so you won't have any trouble eating out or having a banquet.

It says that women should lock their doors when they take a bath, but some men also lock their doors when entering the bathroom. And I'm an idiot who's been in there for over an hour. Very annoying. It would be a good inn if the bathing situation could be improved.
