It's cheap and the rooms are larger than those in Tokyo. If you just want to sleep at an inn, which is convenient if you rent a car, this is recommended.

I stayed in a standard twin room without meals. There was no place to eat nearby, so I bought some food at a convenience store near Toshogu Shrine.Perhaps because it was a weekday, there were hardly any other guests, so the 24-hour hot spring was reserved for private use (the open-air bath is open only at night). I was impressed with how clean and well-equipped the facility was.

Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. All rooms are supposed to be non-smoking, but as soon as I entered the room, there was a strong smell of cigarettes. When I talked to the front desk, I was told that diffusers could be rented (for a fee). The food was delicious, but I noticed that the main garnishes for dinner on the second night were different (it said it was supposed to be served with maitake mushrooms and onions, but I couldn't find it; it was served with potatoes, eggplant, shimeji mushrooms, and broccoli instead). I checked and was told that the sauce on the pork was like that, but the sauce was ginger sauce and had no mushroom flavor. It's common for the garnishes to change, so I wanted them to be honest.I became distrustful because I was told things about food that were not true. (I think this is something that the food provider should not do.)It's even more of a shame because other than that, the service was excellent and they were attentive to various requests.Even though this is an inn that recommends food, the food made me feel distrustful.

The building was a little old, but the rooms had been beautifully renovated. The food was average.

The hotel is a bit like an old Western villa style, the room facilities are a bit old, the baths and open-air baths are better than expected, and the dinner is rich …

I was surprised a little. This French course dinner is delicious. . . I was thrilled to be able to enjoy such an authentic course meal for this price. The appetizers are filled with a variety of flavors and are accompanied by wine. The soup is also full of flavor. The simple and rich fish dishes are amazing. Meat dishes that are easier to eat than they look. Desserts also taste freshly made. Very satisfied. The dress code is smart casual, but it was a little funny to see a Westerner come to the restaurant wearing a yukata, which I didn't understand. Both the front desk staff and the restaurant staff are trained foreigners who understand Japanese well. A Japanese male staff member is always keeping an eye on you. Indoor cleaning is also done well. The facility as a whole is old, and the rooms and baths are a little dark. I think the impression will be much better if the lighting is brighter and the walls of the bath are painted white. Although it doesn't have the spacious feel of a famous hotel, I thought that by cleaning up the interior, it would create a unique sense of relaxation. The book/manga corner in the hall may need to be relocated or the way it is presented may need to be improved. There was only a shower in the bathroom of the room. The quality of the hot spring water in the small bath was soft and had a good effect on the body. Facing the bus stop on the main street between Nikko Station and Lake Chuzenji, there are frequent bus stops. The Tamozawa Imperial Villa and the Kanaya Samurai House are within walking distance, and the food is outstanding, making this a hotel you'll want to come back to in the summer.

Although it is old, both the room and the restaurant were clean, and the staff was very courteous.I think the French food for dinner is also quite delicious considering the price.I have no complaints about the service, and considering the price, I think it's a pretty good value hotel.I would like to use it again the next time I come to Nikko.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable, the hotel itself gave a countryside vibe with a relaxing and elegant element. The facilities and the room were clean and the staff were accommodating. (Some staff speak English too!)I'd recommend availing the breakfast and dinner (especially) as the nearest convenience store takes a 15-minute walk and it closes at 9PM. They serve French course meals for dinner and it was such a great treat! Breakfast was great too as you'll get a healthy and hearty meal. I loved how my table was situated right next to the glass windows/porch so I got a good sunshine view in the mornings. The spa was great and is a must-try too! I got the outdoor hot spring myself most of the time as it wasn't crowded when I went. Imagine having a relaxing hot bath while staring at the nightsky! Also, if you're staying with friends or family, the lounge is a great space to play billiards or just read in silence.Location wise, it was fairly okay. It's in the middle of the tourist spots and can be accessed by bus. Take note that bus intervals take a while (around 20-30mins?) though.

I made a reservation through an accommodation site, but the site said that child rates were not listed, so I had to pay an additional fee on site. If I had known the exact total price, I would have stayed at a different hotel. The elderly employees were the worst, vomiting phlegm in front of the hotel even though we were there. The only employee who appeared to be from overseas had great customer service.
