It's very old and has a faint musty smell. Since it is only for overnight stays, you will need to find someone outside for meals. The location is great. Is it more like a guest house than an inn? It felt like I was staying at an old man's house in the countryside. Best of all, there is no lock in the room. The prefecture's policy is to take precautions against infectious diseases. I didn't have to wear slippers because I couldn't share them, and I was instructed to wash my hands using the water in the changing room, which has a contactless toilet. If you don't have too high expectations for the room and just choose based on the location and price, you'll be fine. It's quiet and less than a 5 minute walk to the lake and convenience store. However, it's really worn out, so even if you toss and turn forcibly, the sound will echo around you. It would be quiet if there were no other customers. No TV, air conditioning (some rooms have it), room key, or safe. It's cool even in summer, so if you can borrow a fan, you'll be more comfortable. The hanger is very elegant and cool.I'm thankful that the kotatsu has been out since autumn. The futon is a cotton futon. It wasn't a rice cracker, but it was still a little cold.Only one outlet. It would be nice to have a table tap.Wi-Fi is available from the entrance hall. The signal seemed to be weak, but there was no particular inconvenience. There are no baths except in winter, only showers. However, the bathroom is also dark and dirty, so you should go to a nearby hot spring. But then I feel like there are other options that are better for the same budget. The toilet is also old. There's no ventilation fan. It's reasonably clean and there's almost no toilet odor, but it still smells like mold. The toilet bowl is fairly clean. There are no amenities. Please bring your own towels and toothbrushes. There is a small refrigerator in the entrance and an electric kettle in the bathroom, so you can use it as you like.Don't expect hospitality. After the initial explanation upon arrival, I did not see anyone from the hotel. If there's no particular need for it, that's fine. The Kiri and Kogetsu rooms are on the second floor, and the other three rooms, Matsu, Hagi, and Tsuta, are on the first floor. If you are going by car, it is best not to use the route from the 7-Eleven below as it is about 300m of gravel road. You should enter from the middle of the road towards Subashiri, which is a little to the east.

When I stayed there a few years ago, the proprietress, an old lady, was running the business all by herself. Now that his son has taken over the business, he seems to be running it alone. It's a quaint building with the feel of a hideaway, and you can stay at a low price without meals, so I think it's suitable for people like me who just want a quiet place to sleep. There is no air conditioner or fan in the room, but it gets cold at night even in summer. There are no meals available, but there are many restaurants along Lake Yamanaka within a short drive, and hot springs are also just a few minutes away by car.Eating and drinking in your room is allowed, so you can buy a meal at a 7-Eleven, which is a few minutes walk away, and then eat and drink in your room.Unfortunately, there were several long hairs in the room (I have short hair), there was hair on the pillowcase, and there was dust in the corners of the room...I felt that the room was not very well kept. Ta.I remember feeling that the cleaning was thorough when I stayed there before, so I guess it can't be helped by just one man. However, no meals, no air conditioner, no refrigerator, no TV, no amenities, weak mobile signal, shared toilets, shared showers, Wi-Fi environment, atmosphere, quiet, low price... cleanliness that will satisfy you. I think this is the best place to stay for those who don't.I would like to use them again in the future.

I've been in Japan for three years. Because of the pandemic, I only travelled domestically. The owner was very lazy. Hence the most unhygienic place I've ever stayed in Japan. The bathroom, aisle, even the blankets. The wifi password was wrong. It's cold. I like sleeping cold, so I didn't really mind it. But if you don't like cold, good luck.

It's cool even in midsummer. I didn't think air conditioning was particularly necessary. I can't recommend it at all to people who are looking for the services of an inn, but I think it's suitable for people like me who just want a cheap and quiet place to sleep.
