This is a nice place—very clean but old style. You have to turn in your key when you go out. Relatively no privacy—no Do Not Disturb signs. Had to eat breakfast at a set time and they called the room 5 minutes early to remind me. The food was good and unique but no choices. The staff was polite but no English and no one under 60. I enjoyed the Tatami room!

There is no toilet or washroom in the room, but the room seems to have been renovated and is very clean. Breakfast was also very delicious.

It's on the way from Otaru Station to the canal, so it's in a good location, and it's quiet because it's away from the main road. I checked in at 5 o'clock, but they had a hot bath for me. After taking a bath, I asked the manager where we should have dinner, and he introduced me to Uomasa, a sushi restaurant nearby. Apparently it's a sushi restaurant from Etchuya Ryokan. I thought I ate 30,000 yen for sashimi, sushi, crab, chawanmushi, and alcohol, but it only cost me 12,000 yen (surprise). Dobin steamed rice is included as a service. Thank you for introducing me to the manager. I slept soundly at night feeling satisfied. Breakfast starts at 7:30. It was a nice alcove with a hanging scroll. Thank you for all the help you have given me.

I mostly stayed at hostels and business hotels, so I was able to spend a relaxing time in a large Japanese-style room 🥰There is no refrigerator in the room, and there are only 5 outlets, including one next to the TV.The toilet was shared (and it was clean!).The bath is on the first floor, and there are two showers and the bathtub is not large, so you need to consider your bathing time. The washbasin is also shared, but there are 3 faucets and 2 hair dryers. The breakfast had a variety of small dishes and was delicious and satisfying.I wanted to repeat it🙆

The room was spacious and I was able to spend a relaxing time, and the employees were very kind and it was a nice inn. However, the wifi signal was not connected at all on the 3rd floor, I took a bath on the 1st floor and it was quite lukewarm, and the parking fee was listed as 680 yen on Jalan, but it cost 990 yen. That was a shame.

Within walking distance of Otaru Canal and Sushi Street. This is a long-established inn established in 1896, which is in a great location for sightseeing. The renovated interior is clean and comfortable, while retaining much of its history from its founding. The customer service is courteous, and the bath, although small, is soothing and will help you relieve the fatigue of your trip. Considering the location, this is a ryokan that you would definitely want to visit when you go to Otaru. Parking is available for an additional fee of 840 yen per day.
