I was worried at first because my child decided to stay here just based on the photos, but it was a great experience. Quiet and comfortable accommodations, friendly hosts, and great location. Even though our stupid rental car navigation had us driving around the neighborhood a few times on the first day, Google Maps saved us.The child loved it and said he had been to many hotels so far, but this was the best.

My family and I loved our five-week stay at Aioi Yanto. Satomi-san was a very kind and welcoming host and it quickly became our home away from home. We found the upstairs area very serene and enjoyed sleeping on our futons on the tatami mats. The sun poured in through the porch area in the mornings and we were able to have family meals around the kitchen table. Everything you need is nearby (station, supermarket, restaurants) and it was great to have a car park right next to the house. We will miss Otaru but hope to come back to experience it in winter! Thank you Satomi-san for everything. 🙏❤️

It was a good access, being able to walk from Minami-Otaru Station in 10 minutes even in a snowstorm. There are also convenience stores and supermarkets nearby (5-10 minutes walk).Although it is said to be over 100 years old, it has been renovated so there is no problem with staying there, and you can feel the history in some parts that are still intact. The floor plan is divided into four major areas, allowing you to spend your time in a variety of ways. There were good old Japanese props scattered about, and I especially liked the set at the front. The person in charge supported my stay with a reasonable sense of distance, and it was a comfortable stay.In the morning, we were served udon noodles from a nearby restaurant, which was delicious. At night, the fairy tale street, which is no longer popular, is very beautiful and memorable.

I stayed with Aioi yanto for one night in early March 2020. It is an old private house that has been renovated, and the interior has a Japanese-style feel that makes you feel at home. The tatami rooms are large (8 tatami mats + 6 tatami mats), equipped with air conditioning and heating equipment, and a fully equipped kitchen. There were seven of us working on the production, but we were able to work at ease. The water area is clean and the toilet has a Western-style washlet. The shower was clean, but I couldn't use the bathtub. I think it's a perfect place to spend time with friends and relatives. For breakfast, the owner made us Kamatama udon using noodles from an udon restaurant in Otaru. It was delicious! Since it is a detached house, it seems okay even if it gets a little crowded.

You can already feel the quaintness and good atmosphere from the exterior of the building, and once you open the front door, you will feel as if you have traveled back in time to a room where you can feel the past. The space was perfect, and although I was using it with friends, it could accommodate around 10 people.I found it difficult to find when searching for Aioyanto and finding it difficult to find when navigating on Google Maps, but I felt that all of that was the real thrill of sightseeing and staying overnight, and I would definitely use it again.

This time, around 10 people used it at a club training camp. Being able to separate the bedrooms for men and women was very helpful. It's close to Minami-Otaru Station, and there's a supermarket within walking distance, so you can come here light. It's a little hard to find, so you may need to check in advance. The tatami mats and kotatsu (Japanese kotatsu) are nostalgic, and I felt that Aioyanto was particular about creating the space. I plan on using it again and again every time I have the chance!

I had a lot of trouble making a reservation because there were no reviews, but in the end, I was very satisfied!First of all, the landlord was very easy to contact and helped me with many things, including recommending restaurants and making reservations. It was a one-night stay in Otaru on a family trip, and it was a shame that it was only a one-night stay! The microwave, various tableware, refrigerator, kotatsu, tea, and even breakfast (homemade Japanese food) were all great! The accommodation is very clean and the blankets are soft and warm! I was worried it would be cold because it was a tatami room, but the heater was great so I slept warmly. It was a place the whole family was satisfied with. It's close to the main street entrances in the city, including the Music Box Hall and LeTao Main Store, and it's close to Minami Otaru Station, so it's great for walking around!I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to truly experience a Japanese home!
