Located in the heart of Matsuyama, Japan, Guest House Brew offers a relaxing retreat with easy access to many of the city's attractions. The owners are so nice and speak English well. Nice community atmosphere, I enjoyed a home cooked meal from on of the locals on New Year’s Eve.

You can take one bus from the bus stop (Taizaki) near the airport. This is a former bicycle shop that was built about 80 years ago and has been renovated. The whole room has high ceilings and an open feel. Both Den-san and Nao-san are very friendly and we have a great time together. There is a brewery attached, but there is no problem even if you don't use it.Depending on the day, the guests who were having fun at the brewery can be noisy, but when I stayed there it was very quiet and I went to sleep right away.

Guest house and beer bar,They also have home-brewed craft beer.Revisited in 2024.The review below can be used as is.The impression is exactly the same.Definitely recommended if you like bitter beer. Both the IPA and stout were really bitter.Sour ale also has a citrus flavorWe are cooking well togetherIt has a refreshing feel that is perfect for summer. If you don't like beerBecause it's a shop with a bitter taste front. It may be a little tight.Home brewed beer I drank this timeBoth SMASH and IPA1 IPA1,It seems to bring out the bitterness quite a bit,It's a beer for beer lovers. With the owner who likes to talk and is quite the beer geek.Drinking at the stand barI enjoy talking about travel and alcohol.

Best craft beer in Shikoku! Art and music on occasion and a very cozy guesthouse. My favorite IPA, and Pale Ale in Japan. If you like creative diverse primarily English Style Ales and you want the most awesome hosts/owners to tell you about them in a sweet vibes community pub, then hurry up and get to Guest House Brew Bakushuku Den!

The first floor is a bar and the second floor is a guest room. The bar on the first floor basically only serves homemade craft beer (there is a brewery). You can bring your own food, so you can also take it out and eat it at a restaurant in a nearby shopping district. Of course, you can also eat outside. The bath only has a shower, but a hairdryer is also provided.Although it is a style inn that has been remodeled from an old private house, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and tasteful. The toilet also has a washlet. It's like visiting my grandma's house in the countryside, where she keeps it spotless every day. Honestly, I was surprised at how spacious the room was considering the price.I stayed there on a Sunday night, so I was the only guest, but everyone was super friendly. The owner, Den-san, was not present, but his wife and bartender, Nao-kun, were very welcoming. The customers at the bar were all very friendly and it was a really fun trip.I have to fulfill my promise to Nobu-san, who took the trouble to come, so I'll definitely go again, Nao-kun.

The second floor has spacious accommodations with a traditional feel, and the first floor has a hip bar where you can enjoy beer with people. (Rice Ale 🍺 👍)All of the staff, including Den-san, were friendly, and all of the guests at Gehana Bar were friendly and nice.A place I want to stay longer next time 👍

If you're planning on staying in Matsuyama for a few days, you should definitely pay a visit to the Bakushuku Den - if not to stay overnight, then just to stop there for an excellent beer or two in great company - the drive to Mitsu is absolute value! We stayed there and received a warm welcome and had a great time with our hosts and their regular guests. Thank you very much for the unforgettable time! We'd love to come back!
