When I was staying at a nearby inn, I wandered in and used the bar. The owner was inspired by the warmth of the people of Shikoku during a pilgrimage to Shikoku, and decided to open a guesthouse after moving to the area as part of a regional revitalization cooperation team. In between serving customers, he enthusiastically talked about how the miniature garden-like town of Uchiko came to be preserved through the spirit and perseverance of a certain government employee. In the future, they plan to lease an old movie theater nearby and breathe new life into it. It was a night where I realized once again that in a good town, there are always stylish people, both now and in the past. Next time I would definitely like to stay at the inn.

We had a beer on the first floor where there is a shop and cafe. There aren't many places where you can drink draft beer during the day, so I'm very happy to have found this shop! The older sister is also friendly.I'm running an inn, so I'd like to stay there next time.

The attitude of the girl at reception wasn't very friendly and in fact rather snobby and after having had so many good experiences walking Shikoku it was a bit upsetting as she was as unfriendly as you can get (and asking 100 yen for a towel after paying 70£ is just ridiculous). The double room was small but comfortable except there is no roof and it's immediately on the stairs so you could hear everyone taking and laughing downstairs (the bar is open till 10pm) and those snoring in the dorms, not recommended if you are also walking the pilgrimage and need a rest (and a welcoming place for a tired body and possible aching soul). Also while we were happy the man working there made us a good and nutritious vegetarian meal, the snobby and unwelcoming attitude of the girl at reception put us off, the opposite of all the welcoming and warm attitude we have found so far in shikoku.

Received a very friendly welcome. The house is built in the traditional style and located in the historic district. The house and interior are stunningly beautiful. The sleeping space is nice and comfy. Would have loved to stay longer. If you're in town, you have to try the amazing pork burger at the farmer market's bakery.

I decided on a place to stay on the same day. Until then, I had no idea that Uchiko existed, and I was captivated by its unique, old-fashioned townscape and the sight of Uchiko Hare standing quietly there. The decoration inside the building is in perfect harmony with the atmosphere of the city and you will fall in love with its perfection.I regret not being able to stay for more nights, but I would like to visit again with my loved ones. thank you very much!
