Traditional Japanese hot spring hotel, I like it very much!Grandpa is kind to others and speaks English very well, so there will be no communication difficulties. The dinner was very delicious. I finished it with great gratitude. I highly recommend upgrading to Shangzhou beef!Breakfast is a simple salmon meal, which is delicious and has a lot of portions. The room has a very fragrant tatami smell, the bed is very comfortable, and grandpa will make the bed when you go to dinner. There are private and public hot springs. Since there are not too many guests every day, private hot springs are almost always available. It's very close to various attractions. I like it very much and it's a comfortable experience~

I happened to be able to get a reservation and my wife and I stayed there the other day. The exterior of the building has a historical atmosphere that makes you feel like you're at a ryokan. The rooms were also clean and comfortable. The hot springs are hot, which is typical of Kusatsu, but will leave your skin smooth. Is the meal local and includes dinner and breakfast? I was able to eat meat, tempura, sweetfish, and more, which made me feel like I had come to a ryokan again. It's not a large inn, so there aren't many employees, but they were all very kind and I enjoyed staying there personally. Also, facing Urakusatsu, it was surprisingly close to Yubatake and the location was great.

I used it with my one year old child and his parents.I think it's a historical inn, but the inside was kept clean and it was very comfortable to spend time there. We stayed in the renovated Yuri room. The room was spacious and the floor was barrier-free, so even my parents, who are physically challenged, could spend their time there with peace of mind. The private open-air bath had very good water quality and was spacious and I was able to soak in it slowly. It was attached to my room so I was able to use it as many times as I wanted. We also had dinner and breakfast in our room, and the food was delicious and made with local ingredients, and we were very satisfied.Although I did not ask for it in advance, they lent me a chair and tableware for my son, and warmed up the baby food I had brought with me.I didn't expect the inn to be so child-friendly, so I was very impressed by the heartwarming service. My parents were very satisfied, so I would like to visit them again.

This time, I bought a hot spring tour ticket and took a bath at Tamura, one of the inns covered by the ticket.Jizo Source is my favorite hot spring, and this is a rare hotel where you can enjoy it to the fullest. The inside of the hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is also possible to take a private bath if the bath is vacant, but if you have a hot spring ticket, you probably won't be able to use it, so you need to check in advance if you can take a bath.If you're lucky, you might be able to get in.I was lucky enough to be able to enter this time, and my husband and I were able to enjoy it for about 40 minutes.Next time I have decided to make a reservation and stay overnight, so I would like to enjoy the Jizo hot springs to my heart's content. The area around the Jizo source used to be a very lonely place, but with the construction of new hotels and other facilities, there are now more things to enjoy than hot springs. Please stay at Ryokan Tamura and enjoy the free public bath, Jizo-no-Yu, right next to the Jizo source.

Overall a good experience for what’s available to the area.Pros: Near the town center, well balanced dinner and breakfast service, private onsens with no reservation required (so tattoo friendly), and feels more like a traditional Japanese ryokanCons: might be hard to communicate with staff if you have no Japanese skills, overall experience is not as glamorous as compared to more modern ryokans, and facilities and rooms are on the older side.Only other comment I have is when the meals were served there was no explanation of the dishes and we had to find someone to order drinks (even just water). Would recommend for a one night stay if you want to stay somewhere more traditional.

Lao Jian Yu Lao Yueniang is very kind. The boss has good English skills. Even if he is not very good in Japanese and English like me, he can still communicate smoothly. The second floor is currently not open for business and has been converted into a dining room for hotel guests, so there are not many people staying. Furo (without materials) can be used almost at any time. Breakfast and dinner are exquisite and delicious dishes of this banquet. I am very full even if I am a fat man! It only takes 5 minutes to reach Yubata via Jizo-dori Street. The approachable prices coupled with the warm service and delicious hand-made dishes will make you want to stay here again next time you come to Kusatsu Onsen.
