It was my first time going to Naeba. This hotel is huge. I guess it's a ski resort after all.It was a place I wanted to go to again in winter.

I stayed for one night sightseeing and used the restaurant in the hotel. There are two restaurants open, one for Japanese food and one for buffet, and we had Japanese food for dinner and breakfast.I got lost inside the hotel and went to the buffet, and when I asked where the Japanese restaurant was, I was told that I didn't know, but a person who appeared to be a manager came and told me where, and I arrived safely. There was an eel set meal so I ordered that. There was something different from the picture on the menu...(I noticed this after eating it) The eel bowl was round and small, and it looked like the eel from another set of eel tema soba...The seasoning was sweet and not tasty, the eel meat was hard, and the skin was like rubber and not edible. It was my first time to have such bad tasting eel (it was much better at a certain beef bowl restaurant). The price was almost 4000 yen, and I felt like I had been cheated. I was very disappointed as I wondered if an old, depopulated hotel in Japan would be of this quality...

I used it the night before climbing. As expected from a hotel built during the bubble period, it is an amazingly large building. The parking lot is wide, so I guess I had to park a little far away. .The room is large and has separate bathroom and toilet. It was originally a unit, but it looked like it had been renovated.I haven't stayed there very long, but the walls may be thin. However, if the content is like this and a family of three can stay for a three-day weekend for around 20,000 yen, I'm pretty satisfied.Only the location is a little strange. There are very few hotels in the Numata/Minakami area, so I don't think there are any alternatives. Also, the Wi-Fi was reasonably fast.

I used it during the off-season in October.Unkindness was evident in many places. When you arrive, you will have to wait about 15 minutes at check-in. There are no numbered tickets, so you have to stand in line.I made a reservation through JTB with a breakfast included plan. Then, when I checked in, I was asked, ``Have you made a reservation for breakfast? If not, I think you'll have to wait a little while.'' I wasn't told this beforehand, so I didn't really understand what it meant. It seems that the correct answer is to check the table in advance (reservation). There is no ice machine in the building, so you will have to buy it at the store. There was no tea or instant coffee in the amenities, and there were green tea and hojicha tea bags, but only a mug and no hot water bottle. The rooms are clean but old.I could only find a good place with direct access to the ski slopes. I thought I'd make a reservation with breakfast included, so I could eat breakfast without lining up, and I'd stay at a normal hotel where I wouldn't have to wait too long to check in.

Although it is old, I think it is a good value for the money. There were many group visitors, and the age group was also older. The front desk staff was very courteous, and because it was busy, they had a system where you completed the formalities and payment before check-in, handed over the key, and entered the room at check-in time. The restaurant has a buffet for dinner and breakfast and is of average quality.
