I went for the fall foliage and the hot springs, but the staff at the lodge were very kind and the hot springs were great.

Stayed in mid-July. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the hike to Hakuba Oike due to the rain, but we still enjoyed the scenery around the campsite near the lodge, crossing the river, exploring the hot springs outside, and enjoying the scenery. It was great to stay at an altitude of 1400m, soak in a nice hot spring, and enjoy a cold beer and meal. Everyone at the inn is friendly and kind. The cleaning was thorough and I felt comfortable using it.The mountain was cool and cool, but when we descended it was extremely hot.

I used Renge Onsen as a starting point to wash off my sweat after climbing Mt. Asahidake and Mt. Yukikura. Perhaps it was because it was peak summer mountain season and there was no Daisetsukei route to Mt. Hakuba this season, but it was around 6am on weekdays and there were no spaces in the parking lot, so I was able to park on the shoulder of the road after quite a walk. If you only want to use the hot springs here, it may be quite inconvenient depending on the time of day if you have your own car.The important thing is to choose between an indoor bath and an open-air bath, but I chose the indoor bath and took my time. The view of the mountains outside the window was a great way to soothe my tired body. If I come next time, I'd like to try the open-air bath, but it seems a bit small, so I might stop after climbing the mountain.

It's located at the end of a winding mountain road. No cars were parked right next to the lodge. When I went, construction was being carried out to turn the lower part of the lodge into a parking lot, so it looks like it will soon be possible to park a little closer. The hot springs were very pleasant (I used an indoor bath), but there weren't that many washing areas, so I felt like I had to wait my turn.Hair dryers cannot be used in the changing room. There was a sign saying that they weren't there and please refrain from bringing your own.The open air is like going up a mountain road, so I didn't use it because it was raining the first time I went. I heard that the women's section was the furthest away, taking about 20 minutes to walk, so I didn't feel like going when it was sunny again after climbing the mountain. However, the atmosphere is good. I don't think I'll go to Hakuba Mountain Mountain again, but I might want to come here again just to soak in the hot springs.

I came by bus from the east exit of Itoigawa Station. At Renge Onsen, there are different prices for the open-air bath and the indoor bath, so I chose the open-air bath only. …
