"Kamosu Mori" is one of my favorite accommodations, and while I have the urge to keep it a secret, I also want to share this wonderful place with everyone, so I’m leaving a comment here.First, the location: it's situated in Tokamachi, Niigata, an area known for heavy snowfall. The Matsunoyama area is quite remote, so you need a car to get there. However, for those who are feeling adventurous, cycling there could also be a fun option. Here, you can enjoy stunning views that symbolize Japan’s satoyama landscape. Unlike the dense forests you might find in places like Nagano, the forest here is more open, allowing you to appreciate the beautiful rice paddies and mountain scenery. One of the main highlights is the delicious dinner and wine and sake. During my recent two-night stay alone, I enjoyed a full-course dinner on the first night. I also had breakfast just before checkout, and since it was the new rice season, I was able to indulge in an incredibly tasty breakfast (the rice was so delicious; it truly showcases the quality of Niigata's produce!).Some people might think it’s strange for a woman to dine alone and stay overnight, but Japan is very safe, and there is a culture of "solo dining" (or "ohitori-sama"). Traveling alone here is not a problem at all. In fact, in Western countries, the couple culture is quite prevalent, which might make solo travelers like me feel a bit uncomfortable. One important thing to note is that this place is made of wood, so sound carries very easily. Therefore, guests are encouraged to walk quietly and be considerate of others. If you're looking to have a party or if you tend to be noisy, this accommodation may not be suitable for you, so please keep that in mind. Those who want to enjoy time with family, the new Villa they just built might be a great option!Regarding the bath, it’s a hot spring, but it’s odorless and colorless, making it very comfortable for me to use. Even those who are not fond of baths can utilize the shower booth available.During my stay, I noticed that everything in this accommodation is clean and well-maintained. While some Japanese inns can occasionally lack cleanliness, this place is truly immaculate. It’s clear that the staff puts a lot of care into their work.Additionally, the shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in the bath are all made from natural herbal fragrances, which is a nice touch. They also provide cosmetics, including cleansing products, toner, and lotion, which is very convenient.Decent western-style accommodations with Onsen (hot spring)that welcome solo travelers are rare, and this is a precious place I want to continue visiting in the future.

I chose this hotel because I like sake.Because I want to visit the Land Art Festival, I chose the three-day and two-night package with meals.Breakfast, dinner, and service are all attentive to every detail. The welcome drink on the first day is herbal gin, which has a unique flavorThe next day we returned to the hotelThen he prepared cold beer and delicious pudding for us.Dinner on both days is an exquisite Italian cuisine set menuFrom appetizer to dessertUsing Italian elements and local ingredientsEvery dish is amazingI thought the exquisite cuisine would only change the main course for two consecutive days.Unexpectedly, the hotel thoughtfully prepared two completely different sets of meals, which was very touching and satisfying. The hotel’s refrigerator contains a variety of wines that you can use on your ownBreakfast is authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine. Don’t miss the delicious white rice, which is extremely soft. This is an impressive hotelBut please remind everyone that some room types need to use shared toiletsBut for us, the food and wine here are enough to satisfy usHopefully it won’t be long before we can visit again

I stayed here with the Hokuriku support discount. Is it a mountain as far as you can see on Google Maps? forest? If you go down the main road inside...this place? I passed by.The hotel looks simple and has a historical feel, but it was quiet and time passed slowly. The welcome drink of gin with soda was so refreshing and delicious that I bought it as a souvenir. The view from the room gives you a sense of freedom and is soothing. There was unlimited wine and local sake in the refrigerator in the hallway, so I got drunk before dinner. The meal is a delicious course meal with a view and the wine pairing is very satisfying.Since it was a weekday, there were few guests and the bathhouse was reserved for private use.I was in bed at 8 o'clock. This is a facility I would like to stay at again.

A very good hotel~~This time I went here to visit the Land Art Festival. If I come back next time, I will want to stay here again, and I must arrange a stay and two meals to slowly experience and taste it. What we chose this time is the "Sake × Mori French Cuisine/Sake Pairing Plan Recommended by the Sake Master". Different sakes will be paired before each dish. Although we are not very good at drinking, this kind of sake dining experience can be achieved through careful design and Using seasonal local ingredients allows you to better understand different cultural aspects. At the same time, because they barely speak Japanese, they carefully use high-quality translators to translate every dish as much as possible. This approach is very commendable. In addition, after dinner, there is unlimited sake available on the second floor. The hot spring in the hotel is also very clean and stylish.

I was looking forward to it, but due to my family's illness, I had to cancel. At that time, I was a little concerned, but the cancellation fee was charged including tax, so when I checked, it was changed to excluding tax. Until now, have you been billed with tax included? I felt a little disbelief.

[One hour from Echigo Yuzawa] A stylish inn in a place with a sense of unexplored region! The chef's skills are solid, and the dinner and breakfast made with local ingredients are delicious! The fathers, who were born in Tokyo and grew up in Keio, and are mostly from cram schools, come to visit in two families to help the mothers with their daily hardships. However, I don't know much about travel, so I briefly told my friend who lives in the wealthy community of Minato Ward about the conditions, and he told me that the inn was beautiful, had a sense of unexplored territory, was new, delicious, and wonderful. As expected, the advice of a wealthy and experienced traveler is excellent.I want a sense of secluded area, but it's still beautiful! Otherwise, I don't like it! I'm a city boy. It was perfect! !
