It's a tad out of the center, a 8-10 min walk to nearest train station and we needed a good 40-50 min to get to the major downtown centers.Rooms are small, clean and just enough for two people I would say. Facilities are adequate and clean. A bit tight imo. You can hear snoring from the other rooms sometimes

Rooms were very very small. Facilities like the toilet and shower was shared. I think for what it was, it was way overpriced.

We spent 4 days at Andon Ryokan at the beginning of September. The property is very well connected with Minowa station. Not far to Asakusa center, fish market or the Hokusai Museum Sumida. Andon Ryokan has a special architecture - everything is very carefully thought out and designed. Our room was 4 mats in size - we had everything we needed. There is a jacuzzi pool in the house that you can use free of charge - highly recommended. We particularly enjoyed the Japanese breakfast that the owner prepared herself. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We were looking for the location of a very special Japanese house whose address could not be found online. The next morning the owners gave us the exact address and we were able to view the house! At the end of our trip to Japan, we definitely want to stay at Andon Ryokan again.

This is a family owned business. The owner, Toshiko, is also the chief breakfast chef cooking both Western and Japanese breakfasts (you order a day ahead). Located in a residential of Taito -accessible to bus and subway.  …

It was closer to Minowa Station than I expected! It's close to Minowa Station when you exit from the Meiji-dori side exit.It was my first time using the jacuzzi, and it was really nice! The toilet, shower room, washroom, etc. are shared, so it brought back nostalgic memories of my school trip! The staff also responded kindly.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The breakfast made by the owner herself offered a wide variety of delicious options, Japanese and Western style. The walls are a bit thin and the room was small, but it felt cozy and you definitely get a ' ryokan feeling' on a budget. Despite having to share the toilets and wash basins with guests from other rooms, everything was kept very clean. The spacious and relaxing jacuzzi that you could reserve for 40 min was amazing (and it's free)! Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely want to go here again.Overall it was a very satisfying stay! I also really appreciated the service that helped me prepare my futon while I was out. I would like to use it again someday. thank you very much.

The room was small, but super comfortable. They brought our bags to our room, and the breakfast service was incredibly delicious. We stayed for two nights at the end of our honeymoon, and it was quiet and peaceful. Their bath was wonderful, fully private and reserve only (at no extra charge).

A good introduction to Tokyo in a quiet area a bit away from the hectic centre. A good selection of traditional Japanese breakfasts, helpful English speaking staff. Recommend the Lyphard bar above Minowa station for drinks and light food for the end of the day.

The hotel is a bit far from the stationWe don’t know why we booked a more expensive price on the booking website, but even the official website price does not quite match the quality of a hostel in the form of a youth hostel. There is no elevator but there is a luggage transport elevator. The room is smaller than expected. Yukata must be obtained from the front desk, so there is no way to use it when taking a bath at night. The whole hotel has an indescribable smell. The room was much smaller than expected. The door to the room was difficult to open. The lights in the room were very dim and there were few sockets. I had to temporarily open the iron plate to share the lantern socket. There was a TV, bed and bath towels in the room, but there was nothing else. Yes, the room is elongated and very narrow. There are many rooms on the first floor, just like an Internet cafe, but there is only one bathroom and toiletThe jacuzzi requires a reservation to be used. We were worried about hygiene issues, so we changed the water, but changing the water was very troublesome because the water would be added automatically. It took us a long time to change the water, but the use time was only 40 minutes, and the styrofoam cover fell off. The crumbs made us feel uncomfortable. There was no proper place to put clothes and towels outside the bathtub, and we could smell the smoke while bathing. The soundproofing of the room was not very good, we could hear other people's voicesYou have to pay a deposit of 2,000 yen when you check in, which can only be returned after you check out. This almost hurt us because we had to leave very early the next day. Fortunately, there was someone at the front desk.Laundry is expensive, so we found an outside laundromatMany important notes are posted in the lobby, but the lights were dim and we didn’t notice them. The clerk almost only spoke Japanese, which made it difficult for us to understand, so I’ll try my best to write them down here.Because there was a big difference from our previous accommodation, we checked out early without a refund and booked another hotel with a lower cost but better quality. No photos because I was so disappointed that I forgot to take pictures
