We are SO glad we booked Lodge 401 for our spring skiing adventure in Niseko. The room was impeccably clean, well appointed and so cozy with warm comforters. We enjoyed the common areas where we chatted with other guests, had tasty ramen/beers, and hearty breakfasts perfect for a day of skiing. Clean and accessible bathrooms.Rhys, the owner, was one of the best host we’ve ever encountered in our many years of travel: he was prompt to respond to our many questions, provided wrap around services (ski passes, rentals delivered to the lodge, luggage forwarding, bus tickets to/from the airport), is an amazing cook, and is all around a great guy. He has created a perfect space to relax and enjoy the beauty that is Niseko. If there are rooms available during your time, book immediately!

We had an amazing stay at Lodge401! The Lodge is located a 2min walk from the lift station of the Annupuri Ski resort which is interconnected with the rest of the Niseko United Ski Resort. The rooms as well as the sanitary areas are very tidy and spacious. The breakfast and Ramen was exceptionally good. Rhys, the owner of the lodge, is extremely helpful and kind. With his sense for the details, he made our stay unforgettable. He arranged ski rental, ski tickets and airport transfer for us. We couldn't be happier to have started our Japan trip like this and hope to revisit Lodge401 soon.

Beautiful lodge in the heart of Annupuri. Less than 5 minutes walk to the lifts and very close by other local attractions. Delicious food and friendly staff, 100% recommend Lodge 401.

Excellent location, literally just behind the ski lifts and slopes! The Lodge was cosy with a sick set up that had everything from FnB choices- with bookings and transport sorted (breakfast option provided) to snowboarding/ski booking intricacies sorted.Clean rooms, well ventilated places to dry out the snowboarding equipment and I could eat and drink the lodge’s own food all day!11/10 will be back!

Beautiful lodge minutes from Annupuri, the lodge owner Rhys is a legend. He's always keen on a chat, and I promise you he will serve some of the tastiest food you have ever eaten. Excellent stay at the Lodge 401! We loved our stay here. Great location to the Ski resorts, service was excellent, delicious food, and fabulous room. The host Rhys was very accommodating and he made sure our stay at the Lodge was the best highlight of our Japan trip!

Lodge 401 was definitely one of the highlights of our Niseko trip! Rhys was super kind and helpful with everything, from helping us get to the lodge from the station to arranging for discounted ski passes for us. The lodge itself was super clean, well maintained and cozy. The location is also perfect - barely a five minute walk from the Annupuri Ski Resort, and there is also a nice onsen nearby as well. Finally, as many other reviews mentioned, Rhys cooks some fantastic hot breakfasts! I would’ve stayed longer just to keep eating them. Overall we had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back again.

We had a great stay. Clean, cozy and convenient location. Just 2 min walk to the lifts. Nice gear room and place to dry your stuff.The owner, other guests and staff was very kind and had a great vibe. Would recommend without and reservations.

An absolutely wonderful host. Rhys will go out of his way to provide warm hospitality. However, the number 1 reason for the 5 stars is his cooking. Just fabulous. My son and I tried almost everything on the menu because it was just that good. Highly recommended.

We ended up making a last-minute booking at Lodge 401 to take advantage of the early ski season and were some of the first guests at the lodge since re-opening. This lodge is in a great location to the ski fields, which are only a few minutes short walk away and excellent if you are new to skiing or snowboarding. In addition, it is a quick walk from either the snow shuttle or the public Niseko bus. An excellent indoor / outdoor Onsen is only about a 5-minute walk away. The lodge has been renovated and looks great.The owner, Rhys was extremely helpful and made our trip stress free and pleasant – and great to meet a fellow Aussie! He was able to assist on our first night in organising return transfers to the airport, got us discounted ski tickets and arranged the ski hire all from the comfort of the bar. He was always checking we were okay, helping us organise things and even drove us out to dinner. He also has a background as a Chef, so we always woke up to a hot café style breakfast in addition to a continental buffet.The only downside with our trip was Annupuri being quite small, and limited options for food. There is no convenience store and whist we were there was only two restaurants open. However, that is because we are early in the season and once a few more open up it will be fine. Rhys was also looking to do a light dinner menu which would be all you would need most nights. The Indian restaurant down the road is a must try. In summary, we would strongly recommend staying here and if we ever come back to Niseko, we will stay here again.

Rhys has such a good host when we were staying here. The breakfast was awesome~ not just that, the location is nice because it's near the resort. We can just ski our way back to the resort easily. 😂

We had a dream-like time. This is a wonderful accommodation filled with love and effort from the owner, and I was able to enjoy my stay as if I were living there without any inconvenience. I was especially impressed that I was able to ski off the slope and return to my accommodation with my skis on! I am satisfied with the fact that the majority of our guests are repeat guests. And it was the best breakfast! I would like to thank you for your kind response even though you were very busy with your private life. I hope you have a warm and happy Lunar New Year with your healthy children and families.

Love this place! Rhys and Zoey are very attentive and always happy to help out any guests. Breakfast is served every morning. The lodge is cozy and nice. rooms are great. The best part is, the lodge is located 4 minutes away from the gondola on Annupuri ski resort. i would definitely stay here every visit to Niseko. Great people, great place, great location! also, the facilities are well taken care of. the dry room is in the basement and spacious for everyone's gear to hang and plenty of spots for your skis and boards. a place really worth staying in :)

Lodge 401 is hands down the best place to stay in Annupuri or just Niseko in general. Rhys and his team run the perfect lodge for powder hounds, families or anyone who wants to stay within a 1 minute walk of the Gondala. There is a bar in the lodge, rooms appointed with local snowboarders ripping powder, a board room to rack your boards/skis and also a waxing bench and a drying room to store your boots and clothes. It is basically the perfect lodge, nice without being over the top. Finally the owner Rhys is the perfect host, has so much knowledge of the local area and will do anything to help improve your stay. Do yourself a favour and book now before everyone else gets in on this secret. I've being going to Niseko for 12 years and haven't found better yet.
