I visited this youth hostel styled guesthouse in summer about 4 years ago. I like the cozy atmosphere and friendly host, though he might not speak much English. I have no idea if this is still the only one youth hostel around Nagaoka City, but I do want to visit here again when I travel through here next time. (Chung-han Kuo from Taipei)

I used it with a friend the other day.I don't think there will be any problems with access if you have a car.The interior still retains the charm of an old folk house, but has been renovated so there were no inconveniences.To be honest, I thought it would be better if the water pressure in the shower was a little stronger.You can also make a barbecue by renting a stove, so I think it's perfect for the summer.I would like to visit you again if I have a chance.thank you very much.

I've been a regular since the beginning of the renovation.Unlike other guesthouses, this guesthouse is close to people and has a homey feel. It may not be suitable for people who don't have a private room and want to spend time alone, but it is a guesthouse that you should visit at least once. The owner is kind, and so are his friends. Friday is curry day and anyone can participate. A breakfast party is also held on Sundays.It's comfortable, you can read as many books as you like, and drink as much sake as you like, so you might end up staying too long and getting home late... I want everyone to come!Once you come, you will understand how good it is!

Sunday breakfast The owner made us Koshihikari rice from Uonuma and miso soup, and the guests and the owner's friends from the neighborhood brought side dishes and had a delicious and luxurious breakfast.

This is a guesthouse that was just opened in February of this year in the Yoita district of Nagaoka City, where the countryside stretches out as far as the eye can see just a short distance from the city center.Parking is available in the town's tourist car park, which is a few minutes' walk away.Although it is far from the station, there are buses from Nagaoka Station about once every hour, and the journey takes about 30 minutes.There is no bath, but there is a shower, and you can borrow towels for free.They have a full lineup of beer and sake, as well as many manga and travel-related books.Above all, the owner of the inn is a warm and friendly person, so you can spend a comfortable and peaceful time♪If you don’t mind sharing a room, I highly recommend it❕

It was a very nice guest house! When I checked in to the inn, the owner said to me, ``Thank you for your hard work,'' which really comforted me. Even though it was my first time there, it felt like coming home to my parents, or visiting a friend's house, and it made me wish there was a place like this nearby. I was able to drink local sake, the futon was fluffy, it smelled nice, and most of all, I was happy to be able to talk to the owner and the tourists who were visiting! I think the biggest appeal of "Nemaru" is that it creates a space where even people you meet for the first time can quickly blend in and talk. Of course, you don't have to force yourself to talk, and I think it's a place where you can be natural without feeling weird!

This is a small inn where you can get close to each other and the host and get to know each other. It's a very comfortable accommodation.I visited in March, and the kotatsu in the living room was the best. And there is a large amount of Japanese sake on the shelf in the living room...!

I ate a fried chicken hot sandwich at a lunchtime cafe.Sweet, thinly sliced high-quality bread is pressed with the ingredients to make it even thinner and crispier.The crispness of the lettuce and the melting texture of the chicken make it feel so good to eat.The flavor of the deep-fried chicken, the salty flavor, and the refreshing sourness of the sauce, similar to French dressing, combined with the bread made for an excellent hot sandwich.I will use it again when I have a break nearby.Next time I'm thinking about whether to choose a spicy hot sandwich or an egg-yaki hot sandwich.
