Although it is an old building and makes some creaking noises, it is well-maintained, well-maintained, and has double doors, giving a sense of warmth and consideration. Everyone at the reception is really kind and makes me feel at ease.I've been using it for 15 years when traveling alone to Matsumoto. There is Yohashira Shrine nearby, so you can visit it early in the morning or walk along the river. The breakfast is wonderful and delicious. The lady who cooks breakfast is really nice and I look forward to seeing her every year. Everyone is enjoying chatting. There are a variety of rooms, some small and others surprisingly large for two people, but all of them are very relaxing. The bath is a family bath. One set at a time, locked from inside. The curfew is 11am, but since it's in the center of tourism, you can drink until the last minute. Is it run by a family? I hope it will continue for a long time to come.

Stayed on November 11, 2023An inn located in a registered tangible cultural property along the Metoba River near Matsumoto Castle.I came to Matsumoto about 10 years ago and was strolling along the Metoba River in the evening when I saw this place and liked it so much that I decided to stay there.Since then, it has become my regular accommodation in Matsumoto. The building is an old-fashioned wooden house full of Matsumoto folk art, and the toilets and baths have been renovated. As it is an old Japanese house, the stairs are very steep and the ceiling is low, so tall people should be careful about overhead. Also, it can't be helped that it's easy to hear sounds from the hallway and the rooms next door. The day Carlos stayed there, it was the day before the Matsumoto Marathon, so the kids staying there were noisy until late at night, which surprised me.That's part of the fun of the trip. The people at the hotel remembered Carlos and were very hospitable, and although they didn't serve dinner, the breakfast was very nice Japanese style and had lots of fruit, so I was very happy. When I called, I was told that business days are limited due to a staff shortage, so be careful if you stay on weekdays.

It was a quaint inn, and the room was small, about 6 tatami mats, so it was very relaxing. If you are going by car, we recommend that you call us when you are near the parking lot and ask for directions, as the parking lot may be a little far away. There is also a coffee shop in the same building, which is also recommended if you stay overnight.

When I first arrived I wasn't too sure but after 4 nights I was sad to be leaving. Very classic Ryokan, simple but elegant. Here the pros and cons might overlap. Solid Japanese style breakfast is delicious but then you might not be hungry again until dinner. Old style room with tatami is charming but also a bit claustrophobic and has paper thin walls (earplugs?). Grandmother owner is very genki and warm. Grandfather owner is...hard to read. Walking distance from the castle and a thousand bars, eateries and cute shops. Great deal at about 6000yen/night. Also, it is well known amongst locals. If you mention you are staying there, your street cred will "level up" :)
