The rice was delicious. The rice is delicious and you may end up gaining weight if you stay there for a long time because you end up having to refill the rice. The room is decent. However, I would like to stay here again the next time I have a business trip here.

It's been a long time since I've been here, and I'm grateful for the design. I came here a few years ago and have lived here for several days. I think the service and facilities are not very good. Maybe it's better now.

I booked the room thinking that I would only need to take a bath, but I was able to sleep peacefully at night, which was exactly what I had hoped for. …

Perhaps because I stayed on a weekday, the only other guests were construction workers.I felt sick because I was smoking cigarettes in the cafeteria, and the people who seemed to be regulars were talking loudly.I think you should at least not stay there on weekdays.

Aoki minshuku was the first minshuku of my life so I may be biased here. The thing that stood out to me here was the amount of food served at dinner (see photos) and the next morning's breakfast. After an 8hour walk from Yokokawa to Karuizawa via the Nakasendo, and feeling like I fully deserved several meals, I appreciated the huge portion and wolfed everything down. All of it was delicious. Aoki minshuku was a comfortable and friendly place to rest our tired bodies and refresh for the next day's walk.Tip: I'm not sure how but we missed the side road that led straight to the minshuku. Thankfully, an observant elderly resident came to our rescue. You should be able to see/locate the minshuku from the main road, just pay attention to the side roads as you walk along. Look out for the owl figurine outside the house.
