Shochikuso is an inn, sometimes a bakery, and sometimes a place where you can enjoy a course lunch. The flowers are so beautiful that just walking in front of them is soothing.

Relax and relax in the best environmentComfortable feel like coming back to grandma's house in the countrysideMy grandmother's story was one-sided, but I was able to hear a lot of interesting stories about the island. Thank you very much 😊

I heard that there was a bakery that was open only one day a week, on Thursdays. There were so many breads that I was spoiled for choice. It has a nice hideaway feeling, like it's for people in the know.

Our hotel staff recommended this restaurant Matsutakeso as a good place to get pasta lunch - good and reasonable. We tried it, and were pleased with the service, food quantity and quality. It's simple and unpretentious, but cozy and friendly. The walls are covered in photos of previous guests, and other framed pictures and documents (very official looking, but in Japanese). The special included green tea, soup, salad, bread, cookies and coffee in addition to the fish, beef, pork and cooked vegetables. We did not stay the night, but it's certainly a good place for lunch. Cash only, menu is in Japanese (no English). Restroom available.

I think that among the guesthouses in Taketomi, the facilities are clean. However, the place to have fun after dinner was in the courtyard surrounded by the guest rooms, so when we drank until late, the father of the family with his children scolded us for being too noisy. At that time, our group and our family were the only guests staying. The rice is pretty standard, but there are surprises like sashimi made from the fish caught that day.

You can't book it online but it's a very nice and clean place in the middle of the traditional village. It's easy to book if you call them, they can pick you up from the port by car too. We stayed with four people (two adults and two kids) in two tatami rooms (dinner and breakfast included 6000jpy). Fans are available but AC has a timer and you need coins (1hr 100jpy).

The closest guest house to the ferry terminal. My grandfather is a teacher who makes local tools. My grandmother is such a nice person! Bicycles, snorkels, flippers, etc. are available for rental. If you are a resident of Taketomi Island for a long time, you will be able to tell us a lot of information! All rooms are equipped with air conditioners, so you can stay safe even in the middle of summer. Please stop by when you come to Taketomi Island.

This is a simple inn located in the red tile village of Taketomi Island. There are two Shisa (?) on the roof. The food was also delicious.

I stayed there in June 2017. The accommodation was reasonably priced, the breakfast and evening meals were delicious (local food), and I had a great time chatting with the people at the hostel. The stories about the grandmother in particular are amazing, and I recommend listening to them if you are interested in the history and culture of the island. There is a clean toilet with a washlet. The bath does not have a bathtub, but this is normal in Okinawa. There is also a hair dryer. By the way, this is Matsutake-so, not Shouchiku-so.
