I will never forget meeting the owner of this place.It was my first time staying at a guesthouse, and I was a little nervous when I first visited.However, the owner's friendliness and his partner's smile instantly relieved my tension!Although we were only able to stay for one night, by the time we said goodbye, we were able to treat each other like friends.I'll never forget that night when we talked about so many things.It was an inn that I would definitely want to visit again!Thank you very much 😊Oh, the goat was so cute too! ! ! ✌️

Owner ghosted at check-in (sent a message over an hour before arrival mentioning the expected ETA and also tried contacting by phone) and after waiting almost 30 minutes I ended up having to book a hotel and drive an hour away at 10 pm. Luckily Agoda was also unable to get in contact with the property owner, so there’ll at least be a refund. The owner finally tried to call me back but it was too late at that point.Edit: going to add some more details to address some of the points brought up in the response by the property owner. The TLDR is DO NOT STAY HERE because the owner is way too much of a giant liability.Location: the property is located in the absolute middle of nowhere, but it’s not difficult to find. Now there are no actual signs or lights on and the street is very dark, but I stayed parked on the street directly in front of the place for 30 minutes trying to contact the owner.Language: Owner’s reply apologizes for not being able to speak English, but first, I DO speak Japanese, and second, this is irrelevant because by the time they finally did contact me, I was already in the process of booking an alternative room an hour away.Waiting: Owner says they were waiting for hours. The check-in time is very late at this property — 1800-2200. I contacted the owner through Agoda’s chat feature between 20:00 and 20:30 notifying them of my arrival time around 21:30 and never received a reply. I arrived around 21:25 and didn’t see anyone there. After looking for contact information on Agoda, I contacted the owner’s phone at 21:39. I let it ring and ring and never got an answer. With the urgency of the situation, at 21:42 I contacted Agoda’s customer service and spent 13 minutes with a customer service representative before they confirmed the owner couldn’t be contacted and they then (21:55) gave me the green light to get a refund and book another place. At 21:56 the owner finally called me back to which I said that I was in the process of cancelling and booking another hotel. He told me to wait and that he would call me back again. At 22:00, he called again, but I didn’t answer because I was already back on the road and driving towards the new hotel. If you look through the other reviews, you can see that this is not the first time other guests have had this exact problem with the property owner.

Guesthouse owner is kind and generous, place is spacious, clean and comfortable! Stayed here one night on a road trip with friends. Beautiful part of the world, would highly recommend staying here. If booking same day, recommend calling host to confirm check-in time.Please support this local business!

I stayed here while touring around Tohoku during Golden Week. It was a very nice place to stay, with a homey feel and the guys staying at the inn were kind. It rained and my clothes and seat bag got wet, but they dried them all on the stove in the living room, which was really helpful. I want to go again.

2023.11.26I stayed there after an event (JAZZ night) held here. There was a wood stove in the living room and it was very warm and cozy.
