Stayed here one night on a bike trip to Akita City and the Oga Peninsula. It's a nice family-run ryokan. Decided to book here directly after reviewing the other options in the area which seemed more expensive. The son speaks fairly good English and reached out to me after I submitted my reservation request on their website a few days in advance. It's a Showa era inn, so don't expect fancy or mostly modern amenities. I had a quiet comfortable stay. The onsen section seems like it might have been renovated relatively recently. I also had their dinner here since I didn't want to leave the facilities after a long bike ride. It was an appetizing and filling meal.Overall, felt like a great local experience and a good value.

I only used it for bathing. The hot water was very good, but the facilities and customer service were poor. There are also no coin lockers. Adults 800 yen. Is there any repeat?

This is a lovely onsen my family of 4 visited. A bit pricey (700/person)compared to what I’m used to paying(300¥). I got to chat with the front desk before going in and was surprised he knew so much about my tiny country far away. I was really touched. It was late evening so no one else was there. Soap and shampoo were provided but one hour usage limit.

A Japanese-style inn where you can take a day trip bathThis is a quaint ryokan located a little way from the main hot spring town. Day trip bathing is possible. When I went at dusk, the bathing time was limited to 1 hour. The inside of the building is Japanese-style and makes you feel like you're in Tohoku. The bathhouse had one large bathtub and was very quiet to use. I think this is a great inn and hot spring to soothe the fatigue of your travels.

For better or worse, it's a Showa era inn. I love retro things and have stayed there many times. Namahage came on New Year's Eve. If you are looking for extra services or the latest clean rooms, you should go elsewhere.
