It was wonderful.Great food and service.I love hot springs in Yufuin, but this inn is my second favorite after Tamanoyu in Yufuin. The indescribable atmosphere and unobtrusive but uncompromising service were the best.

Here is the perfect place for people who want to get away from the daily grind and to enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese Ryokan off the beaten track in quiet nature. The food served comprises local specialities of Akita prefecture. Local handicraft souvenirs are available at a small shop beside the front desk.

It was basically comfortable. There are some comments that criticize the high prices and food, but I think this is a common imposition of likes and dislikes or an attempt to obstruct business. If you are familiar with the market prices of services overseas, or if you enjoy the uniqueness of each inn's ingredients and seasonings, you will have no problems at all.

My favorite inn that I have visited many times since 2015. A 15-minute drive north of Kakunodate's Samurai Residence Street in the mountains, this hotel has a thatched-roofed main gate and an old private house (with a lobby building for check-in and other procedures), with a total of 10 rooms. This is an inn with a semi-open-air bath.Accommodation costs are highest in late April when the Kakunodate Cherry Blossom Festival is held, but we recommend visiting during that time as the weeping cherry blossoms and Someiyoshino cherry blossom tunnel that stretches for 2 kilometers on both banks of the Hinokiuchi River are well worth a visit. However, in the middle of winter, when the snow was deep, the cold, dignified air was tense and quiet, so it was very relaxing. The rooms have a calm modern Japanese feel, with traditional local crafts such as Kabazaiku and Itayazaiku. The food is supervised by Mr. Nozaki of Tokyo's famous Japanese restaurant ``Wantokuyama'' and is satisfying in both quality and quantity, and there is also a selection of delicious sake from Akita that complements the dishes. It's my favorite inn, and I always feel repulsed when I leave, wishing I could visit again sometime soon.

I just returned from a 2 night stay and have nothing but good things to pass along. The staff was great -- friendly and helpful. The room was great. Food was fantastic (and very diverse over the two days). They helped arrange a day trip to Nyuto Onsen (which I also recommend) and kept me updated on what onsens there were open, etc. I definitely plan on returning.
