You’ve not experienced true hospitality until you’ve stayed at the Kamikura Hideaway. This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience.Where can I even begin! Tetsuji and Mio are the best hosts I have ever met. From my initial booking, Tetsuji was extremely helpful and responsive. He provided guidance for shipping our bags directly to his house as we were doing the Kumano Kodo hike. He went above and beyond in arranging help for us. When we arrived, he made a dinner reservation for us while his wife Mio provided directions for our journey the next day. He even drove us to the train station when we left because it was raining. The house is by far the most curated accommodation experience I’ve ever had. Every detail is thoughtfully considered and appointed. Everything is clean and comfortable, and the surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. Finally, the novel experience - this is what truly makes this house stand out. It is so unique. I hope to come back again!

A guesthouse in an old Japanese house at the gates of the Kamikura shrine, one of the main holy sites of the Kumano pilgrimage. The entrance to the sanctuary is visible from the garden. The kitchen and living room are on the first floor and are equipped with cushions, armchairs, chairs, a dining table, a microwave, a large fridge, a kettle and a coffee grinder. The bedroom is spacious and has two fairly large futons, it offers beautiful light at daybreak. In addition to the “traditional” guesthouse offering, KamikuraHideway also hosts a Fulburn Factory “story space.” The artistic and literary experience consists of an installation of texts, photographs, illustrations and various objects telling the history of the place. A huge codex entirely written in a mysterious language can also be consulted on the desktop and gives everything a magical appearance. Throughout research and reading in the house, the elements take on meaning and give the space a new life of which we feel like the last witnesses.

I stayed for 2 nights. It was raining heavily in the morning of the second day, so we locked ourselves inside the house and thoroughly enjoyed the world of the story. It was a mysterious space that made me feel like I had wandered into an old house. As a place to stay, it was very comfortable and cozy, and there was a convenience store nearby and restaurants within a 10-minute walk, so it was a convenient location. Access to Kumano Sanzan is also highly recommended.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay here. What is clearly different from previous inns is the aftertaste after checking out.The pounding, warm, moist aftertaste lasted for a while.Thank you for the pleasant time.We especially recommend staying here for these types of people.・Those who indulged in fantasy novels even while sleeping when they were children.・Those who were fascinated and excited by the reality and ambiguity of the story in children's literature.・Those who sometimes vaguely wish they could go back to those days. Please come to Kamikura Study♪

An inn with a new sensation like never before. If you have time, we highly recommend staying for several nights.Based on the stories scattered throughout the museum, you will find yourself becoming part of the story and being drawn into it before you know it.It's rude to talk here. For more details, please stay and experience it for yourself. It feels like a hideaway, and the surrounding area is quiet at night. However, you can walk to the city in just 5 minutes, so there is no inconvenience at all.The rooms have a sense of cleanliness, while also being made with care that highlights the concept and story that is being embodied.During my stay, I had some trouble due to personal circumstances, but the care I received at that time was heartwarming. Thanks to you, I'm feeling better. Most people who have stayed here would think so."I'll definitely come back again!",and.

I had a magical experience staying in the Kamikura Hideaway. The place is quiet and the location on the feet of the mountain that leads to the Kamikura Shrine. A place full of care and little details to be discovered.
