Nothing like what you've described happened. I felt it was a good value for money hotel. There are complaints about mold and filth, but who is the one who is stingy with their money and chooses this place? I can feel it.Considering it was a stay without meals, it was cheap and I was completely satisfied.

I used this hotel about 3 years ago and the inside of the room was extremely dirty. There was something that looked like a child's toy under the bed.

At least...please leave some tissues in your room. Also, boiling water is a bit communal...what do you think?

This was easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, not only in Japan but in the world. I had no idea such a low quality hotel even existed in Japan, so I was pretty shocked when I walked inside.Hotel staff are only present from 4pm-7pm. We had to check ourselves in, pay through an iPad app left open on a table in the lobby, and write our own receipt. There was a huge stain on the carpet in front of the door to my room, and the room itself looked like an abandoned hospital room from a horror movie. The rooms had obviously not been cleaned before we checked in, nor were they cleaned a single time during our five day stay... I found hairs on the toilet seat and around the room upon my arrival, and my colleague found a used pair of underwear under his bed. The toilet paper roll was almost empty when I arrived, there was mold all over the AC, the arms of my desk chair were broken, and there was either rat or roach poop inside the headboard of my bed. The soap bottles in the bathroom were unlabeled and almost empty. There was no mirror above the sink or in the bathroom. The tap water smelled strange. The price was between 7000-8000 yen per night, which is absolutely outrageous considering the condition of the facilities and the complete lack of service. Honestly, I feel like they should have paid us to stay there.
