Incredibly deceptive listings and aggressive fee tactics. Not a full service hotel. Location is not good. WiFi does not work. I would suggest staying elsewhere for the same price. The listings on booking.com and their website show beautiful rooms and bathrooms, however tucked away in the description they mention the bathrooms are not in the room. I think many people will be deceived. It’s also worth noting it is not a traditional Japanese onsen bath, just a shared toilet and shower. The entire evening the WiFi did not work. I asked the front desk about it but they offered no assistance other than showing me the WiFi password a second time. It remained unusable until late night when everyone else was sleeping.Additionally and importantly we had talked to the reception host about a late check out due to having some working meetings. He had mentioned that it would only be 10% for a late check out at 11am (¥1,900). When we got to the desk a few minutes past 11am he told us it was now a 30% fee. He demanded payment in cash, this is incredibly hostile and deceptive to not make this policy clear to guests. After paying the fee when asking about storing our luggage for the day (as we had done on multiple stays throughout Japan at varying budget hotels to ryokan inns) he responded in a way that pressured us to not use the hotel because it’s not something they do. I can’t even imagine asking the receptionist for any other typical Japanese hotel services. To the hotels credit, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean.I would not recommend staying here. Don’t be fooled by the wabi sabi decor, because the rest of the hotel will cause you frustration on your trip.

Beautiful main space and rooms that combine a modern minimalist aesthetic with traditional local touches, set above two restaurants. Had a very pleasant reception with a welcome drink each & explanation (by the owner/manager) of the building's history as a refurbished (130+ year old) restaurant. The location is about 25 minutes walk from most of the important sites in town. Please note it is, however, a 'residence' and will not offer typical basic hotel/hostel services such as turn-over (making beds/ folding towels/ restocking amenities) or booking/calling taxis. Reception is closed/unstaffed after 9pm, and the gentleman staffing it is not as attentive as you may come to expect from the overwhelmingly positive interactions at other Japanese lodgings.*Beware of the old building's crossbeams, which might cause some bruised heads for anyone over 175cm & stairs only access up a steep flight for anyone with limited mobility.Overall: a great experience with a small lack of attention here and there.

Located in a quiet town, I was able to relax. The walls in the guest room are thin, so you can hear the voices next door, but it didn't bother me too much as it seemed like a lively atmosphere of an old shop.I liked the atmosphere in the evening and early morning, when the shadows of the window lattice were cast by the light from the outside.I thought the price was a little high,Considering the overall structure and concept, I was glad I stayed there. The welcome drink was also nice.

This accommodation is about 10 minutes from Kumamoto Station, and I booked it about a month ago and stayed here this time. The facilities and location of the accommodation are good, and I really like the faint smell of wood. (I especially like the bathroom. It's nice to be treated warmly.) If you're Korean, I don't think it'll be too much of a burden. The owner and staff are Korean.

I found it by chance while traveling in Kumamoto and stayed there for a night!First of all, it's about a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto Station, so it's very convenient to get around. I also went to Kumamoto Castle on the staff's recommendation, and I think it took about 20 minutes to walk! The distance from the accommodation was really pretty, so I walked and looked around and arrived quickly ◡̈And the owner and staff are very friendly! It was very convenient to check in because there was a Korean owner and staff 🥹What to do in Kumamoto! Which restaurant is good? There is no need to worry, the owner organizes the list of restaurants he has visited on a map and shares it with you. I've been to a few places and they were all delicious..♥Also, the accommodation is really pretty! You can see that they paid attention to even the smallest details. The furniture, amenities, and amenities are clean and luxurious!!! It would be nice to just stay at the hotel all day. If you are traveling to Kumamoto, I recommend you visit at least once! Thanks to you, I am making so many good memories. Thank you :-)

I happened to make a reservation at Suksonde and felt like I had found an oasis in the desert while backpacking. The owner and staff were all friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and calm, so I felt at ease. I really liked that each of the chairs, beds, and bathroom amenities in the room were pretty and clean. I feel like our trip ended more happily thanks to this accommodation, so I will definitely stay here the next time I come to Kumamoto!! I recommend that you stop by at least once and enjoy these days, which pass so quickly, slowly with your spouse, friends, or alone!!
