Kokonomama was my last accommodation for 5 nights and 6 days. Although I was really looking forward to it, I felt disappointed that the price and facilities did not match.I went there using Google Maps, and it was located in a place rich in nature. The car and the room you stay in are separated, and the scenery is perfect. It would have been even better if it had been sunny. We stayed in a premium Western-style room called Tsukinoto, which cost 46,000 yen for two people. This is probably the most expensive inn.First of all, it's a pain that we have to carry our luggage ourselves after checking in. You can go through other passages, but there are passages that require stairs, and there are many rickety roads, so I felt it would be nice if the hotel had a service that would take you there if possible. The first thing I noticed as soon as I entered the room was the smell of sewage from the toilet. I don't notice anything when I close the toilet, but maybe I didn't notice it when I was cleaning it? It smells as bad as I thought. Also, the stain on the sofa. I want the stains to disappear. If it's a small stain, you can understand it a little, but it's impossible to see it clearly. This is my personal opinion, but the water came in a 2 liter bottle and was difficult to drink. If possible, I feel it would have been easier to drink if I had had two 500mm plastic bottles placed in the refrigerator. The drink service was very nice, and I was very grateful that they had alcohol, juice, sweets, ice cream, coffee, etc., and it was fun to choose.I went to the footbath at night, but I didn't know if there were towels in the footbath or not, so when I went there, there were towels. Why wet towels? I felt disappointed that it would have been different if they had just told me to bring a towel to the footbath, or that I would have towels available for drying my feet. However, I thought it was really nice to be able to feel the lights of fireflies, the sounds of insects, and the stars while taking a footbath.Although I couldn't see them this time because of the rain, I thought it was really cool to be able to feel nature with my skin, including the stars.I took a bath in my room and tried to dry my hair, but the mirror was in a very bad position. In the end, I had no choice but to look in the awkward mirror on the right.Another disappointing point was that I tried to charge it and plugged it into an outlet near my bed, but in the morning it wasn't charging and I was in trouble for the rest of the day. I thought maybe the main power wasn't turning it on, so I checked, but the main power was also plugged in, so I couldn't figure out why.I don't know why, maybe the room I stayed in this time just happened to be bad, or maybe I didn't check, but I felt that the facilities and service were not in line with the price.

Used in August 2024 2 people/44,000 yenI made a reservation from the official website. I chose a maisonette type room with two hot springs: a space bath and an open-air bath. It has a bedroom on the second floor. This is a non-meal plan only, so you will need to eat nearby. There is no convenience store nearby unless you drive there, but there was a corner in the common area for drinks so I didn't have any problems.A relaxing inn surrounded by nature.↓This is the memo I received at the reception that day.[Viewing footbath]・Usage hours: 15:00-20:00, 8:00-10:00 a.m.*Closed in case of heavy rain or strong winds.[Free drink corner 1st floor of main building]You can bring your own drinks such as coffee, tea, juice, wine, sake, and Kuma shochu.・Operating hours: 15:00-20:00, 8:00-10:00 a.m. (Alcohol only available at night)[Front extension number ⑨Until 21:00 *Available 24 hours a day in case of emergency]If you have any questions, please call number 2 at the front desk.[Check out]Check-out is at 11:00.Please bring the key to the reception on the 2nd floor of the main building by the time.

Apart from the good out door onsen, there is nothing good about it which make everthing too overprice. It's so far from everything else, we expect to at least ! have a food in the hotel or breakfast and there is none...

It was a very nice stay! If you look at Google Maps, you can get there properly! The drink service at night includes sake, shochu, wine, etc., which are served little by little, so it's perfect for when you just want to have a little drink. Tea and coffee were also provided in the morning which was very nice. The hot spring bath in the room had a nostalgic atmosphere. However, there were no mirrors in the bathroom or other areas, which was a bit inconvenient when getting ready.

I stayed here without meals, and it was an inn full of hospitality. Mornings overlooking Mt. Aso are special. The bath was also nice. I would like to go there again slowly.

Absolutely amazing Ryokan with great rooms with private onsen tubs with stunning views of the Aso mountain range.Unfortunately there were renovations.gping on during that time so we couldn't have the full experience with breakfast and dinner - but we will definitely come back!
