It should be possible to award 100 points for the service alone. All employees in the house were attentive, caring and loving at all times, making every single moment special. Exquisite dishes and beautifully designed rooms. I am very grateful for the wonderful time I was able to spend there.

We had a great stay and most staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the monk woman staff that was there constantly seemed to be mad at guests who don’t speak Japanese. She would roll her eyes and avoid conversation when we reached out to ask questions. We loved our experience and felt pity that one staff’s impoliteness and seemingly discrimination now leaves a very bad taste in our mouth regarding the hotel. We look forward to the hotel improving staff training going forward.

HEAD OFF THE BEATEN TRACK IN FUKUI and stay at Hakujukan, we stayed two nights one night is more than enough to see Daihonzan Eihei-ji, a 13th-century Zen Buddhist temple, which is only a five minute walk. We absolutely loved the breakfast and dinners here it was certainly a highlight of the stay. Although the accommodation isn’t cheap it does include breakfast and dinner for two!
