I was looking for a hotel with natural hot spring water and came across this place. We stayed at the end of August.Although the building is a bit old, the rooms have been renovated and are comfortable with new air conditioners installed. For someone like me who is picky about temperature control, this is a pass. The hot springs flowing directly from the source are truly wonderful. Due to the small number of rooms, guests rarely meet in the hot springs, so they have the hot springs to themselves. I'm happy. I was hooked. The photo of the open-air bath doesn't look good because it was taken through a screen door.Dinner starts at 18:00 for everyone. It seems like there is nothing we can do about it since we are running it with a small number of people. Therefore, everyone finishes eating together. There were no expensive ingredients due to accommodation costs, but everything was delicious. The sashimi was not good, but...There was a lounge with unlimited alcohol. Well, there aren't many items and they aren't expensive, but I'm happy. This lodge does not have a television. Everyone seems to go to bed early. I think it's different during ski season...I think there are many people who get up early, so the sounds of walking in the hallway and doors opening and closing can be quite noisy early in the morning. Well, it's within the acceptable range. Most of the workers are young, so there are some things that I don't notice, but considering the price, it's tolerable.I wanted to go during the fall foliage season, so when I tried to make a reservation, it was fully booked. Therefore, I made a reservation at a nearby hotel. This is a recommended inn.

The food was simply delicious. The food was creative, locally produced for local consumption, and the taste of the ingredients was taken care of, and although the taste was bland, it really soaked into my body. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful. It was a small inn, so there were no flies, it was quiet, and it was nice that there was no TV in the room. Unfortunately, although the quality of the hot spring water was excellent, it was not barrier-free for elderly people, and there were no handrails, so it was difficult to get into the bath. Also, the chairs in the washing room were made of wood and were heavy and low, making it difficult to stand up, so I ended up not being able to enjoy the hot springs I had been looking forward to. Also, I would have liked to have a free drink corner with cold soft drinks, and I would have liked to have a cup for drinks in the room. However, the toilet paper in the room was soft and smelled nice, giving it a luxurious feel, and I was happy that there were two bottles of water in the fridge for each person. I was able to relax and take my time. Thank you for coming to see me off and for giving me a souvenir.

This inn was owned by mountaineer Junko Tabei. Nakazawanumajiri Onsen boasts the highest amount of spring water in Japan, and its 100% free-flowing hot water is wonderful. There are no televisions, telephones, or clocks, and the sounds of birds and cicadas soothe you. WiFi is available. The staff are young and hard-working, the food is delicious, and it's a nice inn.
