Arrived on our bikes at night without a reservation but seeing that there was a room at 10k available on Booking. We were received quite coldly by the owner who asked us to pay 12k despite the price on Booking. Being soaked, we decided to stay and were the only guests despite being on a busy holiday weekend. The owner randomly yelled at us for entering the kitchen looking for a microwave and was quite grumpy for the whole stay. Definitely our worst experience since we started cycling in Japan.

We had a wonderful owner and we had wonderful memories. Even though I was busy, I was able to talk about the Urabandai area, activities, and my private life, which was a fun experience that can only be achieved by staying at a pension. In terms of facilities, the guest rooms and bathrooms are all clean, and you can feel the owner's taste in many places. The food was very delicious, and the main course, rice, and side dishes were all excellent...(Next time, I would like to try Georgian wine...)Also, the signboard dog, Berry-chan, is cute and smart, so even though I don't like dogs, I was relieved...We will also visit you during the autumn leaves and ski season!Next time I'll bring Boso whiskey...!(It will be complicated if it becomes too popular, but it's definitely a 5 star!)

Stay for one night on 2024/7/5There were not many travelers staying that day, and the next morning I found out that there was a backpacker from Switzerland! We were traveling by car and did not book a restaurant. We bought food for dinner at a nearby 7-11. The boss was very kind and allowed us to use the restaurant for dinner. This B&B is a traditional Japanese-style wooden house. When you walk up to the second floor, you will hear the sound of wooden boards squeezing (maybe I am too heavy...), so you have to slow down. There is also a standard Japanese-style bathroom where you can take a bath, but the wooden roller shutters used to keep the bath warm are heavy 😂. The decoration is elegant, and the breakfast is delicious and generous. After breakfast, the boss took his big dog for a walk (it seems to be called Bailey?), and a group of us also had a lot of fun playing with the dog. The dog is very well-behaved and cute, and it is absolutely loved. The kind that makes dog people’s eyes light up.

I used it for a touring stay. When I tried to make a reservation on Rakuten Travel on the same day, there were no vacancies, so I called early that day and was able to make a reservation for 10,000 yen including half board. The owner was friendly and kind.◼︎The bathroom was very clean and stylish. There are two family baths, each with two washing areas. The space is about three times the size of a typical home.◼︎I heard that dogs are welcome, but I didn't notice any smells inside the hotel, so I think it's okay even if you don't like animals.◼︎My dog, Berry (♀), a Giant Schnauzer, was so cute. He's quite intelligent, doesn't bite people, and doesn't bark at all, so I felt safe playing with him. Recommended for dog lovers.

We stayed here for four nights and were absolutely thrilled. The owner is very accommodating and surprised us every day with his cooking skills. The rooms are simply furnished, but the beds are comfortable and there is Wi-Fi in the rooms. The accommodation has its own hot bath, which can be used. Japanese language skills are useful as the owner doesn't speak English, but communication worked very well with translator apps.

First of all, the owner of the accommodation is the best. He was super hospitable to us and spoiled us with delicious food.We stayed there for 4 nights to hike and relax, which was made possible by the great accommodation. There was a nutritious breakfast early in the morning and a substantial dinner in the evening. After a strenuous day you could also relax in one of the two private onsen.Small handmade wooden items are also offered for sale in the entrance area.5/5, I can highly recommend the accommodation to everyone. But the best option is full board :)

Urabandai Cranes is located in a quiet environment and offers enough opportunities for both skiing and hiking. You can also relax and unwind after a visit to the big city. The rooms are well furnished and the onsen is great. Everything was clean, well structured and made you feel comfortable. The owner is very accommodating and creates a feel-good atmosphere. The meals he cooked always amazed us.We would come back at any time.

I used it for an overnight stay while skiing. It's a cozy inn with a big dog, and the owner is friendly and chatty, making sure you have fun.The baths were warm, which was helpful as there weren't many day trip bath facilities nearby, although they were few in number.

I would have given 6 stars, but I can't. The owner was super fantastic and tried his best to understand my terrible japanese. Super friendly and cooked some great meals for us.The whole inn is very rustic but either new or very well renovated. Has a super cool quasi-private onsen (shared between other people at the inn, but there are two rooms you can occupy for a while), and you can open a large door to have an open air onsen experience.Notably, the whole inn was also very very clean, a surprise as it is quite remote, so I expected more bugs and spiders, but found nothing!Only regret is to not have planned to stay longer...
