I stopped by for lunch around 2pm on my way back from climbing in August.Cold drinks are self-serve.We received meat udon, meat soba, zaru soba, and rice balls (two wakame and plum). The soup stock was also very sweet and delicious.

Visited Monday, May 13 (PM)We stopped in for dinner on our way through to another area. The weather was cold and wet, so it was nice to have a warm meal in a family-owned restaurant. The food was hot and plentiful, but without much seasoning. I will say, the ginger tea was the best I have ever had in my life though! The décor is really neat, with lots of pictures and maps of Mt. Tsurugi and those who have climbed it. You can also purchase souvenirs from the local area.I recommend to anyone staying at the rest stop or in the area, especially after a long day of hiking.

The soba I ordered was not enough for me, but the price was not that high either (700¥), considering the location. They also sell onigiri for 300¥/2 pieces, I suggest to buy it of you doesn't have one and go to Tsurugi-san.

The soba restaurant serves filling and warming home made soba noodles with amazing views across the mountains. Staff were very friendly and helpful and patient with my lack of Japanese. Decor is simple but lends a great homey ambience that is perfect after a hike.
