I wanted to stay at Takamotoya, but when I made a reservation online, I ended up staying at this guesthouse. (Sounds like a series?)If you want to be sure of staying at Takamotoya, it's better to call and confirm.I paid about 4,500 yen per person, but I was put in a small room with a double bed and almost no floor.There are no windows in the room, and the only entrance is a sliding door with no handle, so once it's closed, it's a little difficult to open. Those with claustrophobia should definitely avoid it.Since it was still hot, we left the hinged door open, but when it was opened, the common living room and entrance were completely visible, so people who didn't want to be seen might close it at the risk of being locked in (and getting killed by the heat).Maybe they didn't recognize the reservation properly, or for some reason there was a used towel blanket in the room? It seems that there was a towel blanket in front of me! When it arrived, he said, "Please!" Is this Southeast Asia?There is no lock at the entrance, so you are responsible for your wallet and other valuables. I can't come by car, so I have to stop on the way and walk there.Also, are the bath and toilet separate? It is located inIt was helpful to have wifi.You can also have a barbecue.

Super cool experience after a full day of rafting! Kaito was kind enough to show us the way up the hill and around the house! The road up is a bit sketchy and narrow. The house is maybe not a 5 star hotel but the quiet nature and the stars at night make up for any minor inconveniences. It might be better to have snacks and beer before you head up the hill as the nearest lawsons is 20 minutes away. We also got the meal from them as well which was super good!

The location of the guest house we stayed at was a bit different. In any case the guest house was very scenic and enjoyable, no complaints.The happy raft staff went above and beyond to make my wife and I feel welcomed. We were cycling touring through the area and stayed here to hide during a very stormy day. They went out of their way to transport us and our bikes to the guest house from their main rafting operation.6/5 stars, loved my stay and time with happy raft. Will remember for a long time.

Location: It's about 30 minutes uphill from the local train station. With heavy bags you should arrange a taxi.Internet: The WiFi isn't good but nice to plug out from time to time. If you need to be online, consider somewhere else.Food: Bring your own food from Oboke station shops since there are no shops close by and you have only what you bring to eat and drink.Taxis: We had organised a taxi 2 days in advance but Kana the office manager for Happy Raft messed up the taxi order and we had a very stressful morning and almost missed our train which would have ruined all our connections.Overall the guest house and rafting staff are friendly, but they are let down by the office manager big time.

The staff is friendly, the rooms are quite clean and there is a kitchen area. However, even with a heater the japanese style rooms were freezing at night (~5°C). Also you have to prepare your bed yourself and the toilet is outside. Bring your own food as they don't offer dinner or breakfast. All in all 4500 Yen per night per person is too much considering the service you get. But if you really need a room in this area, it's ok to stay there.Directions: Go there with car or by walking via the Tosa-Iwahara train station. The location on GMaps is correct and there is a street from the station to the guesthouse even if GMaps doesn't know it!
