We absolutely loved our time at obokekyo mannaka. The staff exceeded any expectations we had and were so helpful in getting us booked with transportation and activities. The food over our short stay was incredible and highly varied.I think it was the nicest hotel room we stayed in during our whole trip to Japan. Blending some aspects of traditional Ryokan with western comforts. Can't recommend this place enough!!

The food looked and tasted good, and the service was fine, but overall I felt it was overrated. The room was simple with a poor view, and although the hot spring was clean, it was much smaller than I expected. As the organizer, I felt sorry for my companion.

We stayed 2 nights which included delicious dinners and breakfasts of locally sourced produce itemised and explained on individually printed menus. The staff were wonderful and helpful making us feel special. The onsen had 3 onsen choices inside outside and a sauna and was very well maintained. We booked a mountain side western style twin room which was comfortable. You could choose a yukata and slippers in your size.Overall a very nice experience, and I would definitely recommend staying.

On the day I stayed, about 80% of the guests were foreigners. They seemed to be people who are used to traveling to Japan, rather than a group, and their manners in the public baths and dining areas were good, so we had a pleasant time. The room amenities and food were also very satisfying.

The exterior looks old, but the interior appears to have been remodeled and is clean and well-maintained. To be honest, I had low expectations after seeing the exterior, but the quality of the breakfast and dinner was really great, and the hot springs, although small, were well maintained and very nice. Unfortunately, due to the impact of the typhoon, the schedule after check-out was difficult, but it was resolved successfully with the help of the staff, so I would like to say thank you once again. thank you
