民宿ほたるの宿

Used for walking pilgrimage in May 2024. Stayed overnight after visiting Kakurinji Temple, No. 20, on the first day of the second session. I was able to sleep well in a very quiet location. Dinner was ordinary food, but I enjoyed it while chatting with the knowledgeable owner and other guests. Breakfast was a Western-style meal that day, and I was very satisfied with freshly ground coffee. In addition, if you are planning to visit in order, this is the inn you should stay at after visiting the 21st Tairyuji Temple. I was starting from Ritsukoji Station in the afternoon, so I gave up on Tairyuji and only visited Kakurinji and stayed here (it was quite far from Kakurinji and I was tired).

The host is very friendly, bed is comfy and clean which was needed after the long stretch on that day. Dinner and breakfast more than abundant and delicious. All the best Kono :)

This is an inn for pilgrims, but I used it during a motorcycle tour.You can leave your bike in front of the inn (I heard you can also leave it under the eaves)I stayed for 7,500 yen, which included dinner, breakfast, and two rice balls for lunch that day.You can also wash and dry your clothes for free.The bathroom was also clean.The owner is kind and friendly and talks to me often.Since it was a hassle to buy alcohol, I bought it at the hotel. A bottle of Super Dry (350ml) costs 500 yen, which is a little pricey, so if you want to drink a lot, I think it would be better to buy it at your local supermarket and bring it with you.The meal was well balanced and delicious.This is an inn that I would definitely like to visit again.The following information is provided for motorcyclists.If you want to go to Tairyuji Temple, you can go up from the road right next to the inn.It's a pretty rough road, so it's not suitable for American riders like Harleys, and those who have just gotten their driver's license and have trouble walking will be disappointed.Steep slope, full of stones, moss, fallen leaves, etc.The route is available on YouTube, so please refer to it.

The location is very convenient for me as I can't go to Byodoji after visiting Kakurinji and Tairyuji. The host and hostess were lovely and the food was delicious. They kindly responded to my mistake of leaving 🔑 in the room and being locked out. I also remember that when I left in the morning, the two of us saw each other off outside. Thank you very much 😊
