It is an inn with a great atmosphere, where the reception staff will carefully guide you to the inn by car.But if you just got your license and aren't used to driving, you should definitely quit...

I visited the Iya settlement for the first time and marveled at the 300-year-old thatched houses, which are so well preserved. All the houses have wooden floors, which are completely different from the traditional Japanese tatami style. Thanks to Alex Kerr, the man behind the scenes, who is a researcher on Asian culture, this is a paradise and a seclusion. It’s so pleasant to experience traditional Japanese rural life in the mountains!Special thanks go to the enthusiastic and kind reception staff. Even though the weather and road conditions were difficult to reach, they still personally guided us to the accommodation and carefully introduced various measures and precautions in the house.

``Mountain Village of Iya,'' created by oriental culture researcher Alex Kerr. There are eight inns in the Ochiai village of Higashiiya, Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, which are renovated old folk houses that can be rented out.The inside of the old folk house with thatched roof is fully electric and comfortable.

Anyway, it's a spectacular view!An old thatched house has been stylishly renovated. It was fully equipped with cooking utensils, seasonings, etc., and was perfect with plenty of amenities that women would love. However, it is really deep in the mountains, so you may have to be prepared for insects. But please enjoy the spectacular view that will make you forget all that.I'm impressed that they carved out a cliff like this to build a house. The roads are extremely narrow, so if you are not confident in driving, it may be best to bring someone who is.There are many places where only one vehicle can pass, so I am forced to drive in a tense state, constantly checking the departure point and thinking about how far to back up if an oncoming vehicle comes. It's hard to drive, but I want to go there again. . .
