One of the best accomodarion experiences we’ve ever had! Incredible views of the beautiful japanese forest which you see from the moment you wake up. You can enjoy this view while being served a delicious breakfest or dinner. The host is so nice, and you will always feel welcome and taken care of. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

As everyone has written, I don't know if they are regular customers or friends, but they bring in alcohol and make as much noise as they like. The owner is disqualified for not paying attention to this. It's a shame as it's a convenient location.

the place is characteristic. I recommend it for those who want to experience a typical Japanese ryokan. Typical Japanese dinner and breakfast, abundant meals. the room I had was above the river with a view of the canyon. Marvelous

I stayed with my son for 2 nights. Beautiful views from your room, futons with mosquito nets, and delicious home-cooked meals. It was a very nice guest house where I felt like I was transported back to the good old days and time was passing slowly. He gave me a ride to Mitsumineguchi Station and talked to my son, which made for some really good memories. I would like to stay again in a different season.

This is a rather quirky guesthouse and I thought the owners are not too friendly. Meals and rooms are basic, as advertised. The room though has a really nice view across the valley plus I will recommend to do a morning or evening stroll around the village too. The building is really old with a long history. It could be better maintained but I believe the owners has their own plans. It is near to the end station of a line and the train station itself is quite a heritage too.Convenience store is a distance away and only accessible if you drive. There's no convenience store or market in the small quaint village.

A place that feels like home.If you are looking for a place that is simple and unpretentious, more suitable if you are a struggling artist lost in your thoughts, or career, or life in general. A retreat in the mountains, a place that feels like home, with a historic background you’ll come to love.Thank you Hajime and your wife for a peaceful stay. And for the yummiest meals. This is the most peaceful and healthy I have felt in a long time.Wishing you the best 🙌🏽

This 120 year old ryokan is hosted by a lovely family whose home cooked meals are a must have! It’s a great base for hiking or relaxing. You can imagine being back in time where the Kowaishi village was a popular route for traders and travellers. Easy to get to via public transportation from Tokyo 🌲
