I was brought here by a colleague.I had made a reservation over the phone, but apparently there was a communication error on the part of the store, so I had them look at my phone history and everything went smoothly. The eel was soft, fluffy and delicious ✨

I had Hanakago Gozen for lunch. To be honest, I didn't know how good the Tadashichimeshi, which is one of Japan's five most famous dishes, was at the end, but I was more satisfied than I expected with the large number of items on the set.The atmosphere is calm and you can relax.Since I visited during the Harvest Moon period, the storefront was decorated with dango✨

Kappo Ryokan Futaba is a historical inn located in Ogawa-cho, Hiki-gun, Saitama Prefecture. Founded in 1748, it is designated as a national registered tangible cultural property. Particularly famous is ``Chunichi Meshi'', which is counted as one of Japan's top five famous meals. This dish, which was born from an encounter with Tesshu Yamaoka, the man behind the bloodless surrender of Edo Castle, is enjoyed like ochazuke with a unique soup. There is a beautiful Japanese garden inside the inn, where you can enjoy the scenery of each season.I ordered "Hanago Gozen". In addition to "Chunichi Meshi", several other dishes were included. The food was placed in a basket, and perhaps that is the origin of the word hanakago. Various dishes such as simmered dishes, tempura, tofu, etc. are listed one by one.The main dish, ``Chunichimeshi,'' is served with seaweed rice topped with green onions, wasabi, and yuzu, and topped with soup stock. To describe it casually, it sounds like ochazuke, but when you consider that it was created at the strong request of Yamaoka Tesshu, it felt like some kind of sublime meal. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed. At that time, I thought that having Tadashichimeshi in this place was a luxury. I wonder if I'll get a different impression if I eat it again now.If I have a chance, I would like to eat there again.

Before the war, when the Imperial Household Agency conducted a national cuisine survey, Chunanameshi was selected as one of the top five famous dishes, along with Fukagawa Meshi (Tokyo) and Kayaku Meshi (Osaka). Chunanae is a rice dish made with the advice of Yamaoka Tesshu, a shogunate who was active at the end of the Edo period: Kaishu Katsu, Deishu Takahashi, and Tesshu Yamaoka. It is a rice dish topped with wasabi, seaweed, and yuzu, and served with hot soup. Then you can have it.
