Washing machines etc. are in the shared space. The room only has a bath, toilet, bed, and desk. You can spend a relaxing time. The owner runs a cafe, and many people come here for this purpose. Above all, he has a nice personality.

For those who are visiting the lovely city of Kumamoto, Guesthouse Kumamoto is an affordable alternative with a really accessible location to anywhere in the city. It's 2 tram stops away from the JR line, and another 4-6 tram stops away from the main shopping belt as well as the Kumamoto Castle. Travelling by tram is really convenient, and if you think you'll be taking 4 trips or more via tram (each trip cost 150 yen), I'd suggest you buy a 1 day pass from the office just before you turn left to the road leading to the guesthouse. When in doubt, you can always count upon Koji, the friendly manager who speaks really good English to show you around. He recommended a great ramen shop just after the Shimatori shopping belt, and for that price, you really can't get any better ramen anywhere else. He also owns a coffee joint that is connected to the guesthouse and serves great coffee at a slight discount if you are a guest there.Accommodations are great though the bathroom is the typically small boxed unit, but the room is cosy and nice. For those who are staying for a week or more and do not wish to bring a ton of clothing, there is a washer and dryer facility that you can use for just 500 yen.All in all, if I ever go back to Kumamoto, you can be sure that I'll put up at this guesthouse once again. Great!

Kumamoto is surprisingly a place that does not receive many tourists who decide to spend the night in the city. …

My partner and I stayed here for four nights. We found the guest-house with little difficulty (it's about a 15 minute tram ride from JR Kumamoto station); the map on the website is great, and it's easy to use the nearby school as a landmark …

The front of this guesthouse is a coffee shop called Minami-Aso Coffee. If you are staying in the accommodation the coffee is discounted. We arrived just before midday.  …

The owner is friendly and the room is nice. The size and facilities are similar to that of a typical single-person studio in Korea. In Japan, it's quite spacious. Coffee is delicious too! Another advantage is that there is a large supermarket called Daier nearby, so you can shop until 11 o'clock!
