Price: typical four-starService: The attitude of the Japanese staff is quite bad, giving off the impression that it’s your privilege to be served by them. The foreign staff on the 8th floor is very nice; it feels like he actually enjoys his work.Summary: The aesthetic of the room style is good, the hotel facilities are poor as a resort hotel away from downtown, the service makes you feel uncomfortable.

I recently visited the Soki Atami Hotel, and while the hotel facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, I was thoroughly disappointed by the service at the hotel rooftop bar, "TEA SALON & BAR."First, there were no menus available, which was surprising. When we politely asked the foreign staff member what drinks were being offered, we were hoping for some tea-related options according to the bar name - "Tea Salon & Bar". Instead, he laughed dismissively and told us there were no tea-related drinks or cocktails available. He the mentioned that tea is only served in the afternoon, but there were no signs or menus indicating this, leaving us completely in the dark.As we tried to inquire about other drink options, he claimed that all beverages were sourced locally from Japan, except for one bottle of Spirit. However, that didn't seem to be the case based on what we observed. His attitude throughout our conversation was quite flippant, and when he handed us the bill, he tossed it over.Despite there being a fireworks event that evening, we quickly finished our drinks, which cost over 1,200 yen, and left within a minute. This was, without a doubt, the worst service experience I have encountered in Japan. I hope management takes note of these issues to enhance the guest experience in the future.

Overall is good. Service is good, staff is very helpful. It is a quiet place to relax from the city life. A convenience store is nearby if you don’t reserve the dinner. Rooftop welcome drink was really a wonderful experience, with a beautiful scenery of Atami. However, breakfast is a little overpriced and the public bath is small.

A perfect stay for a short trip to Atami. The hotel was clean and the staff was attentive. The in-room onsen bath was a plus. However, the onsen public bath was relatively mediocre compared to other hotels of the same calibre. All in all, it’s a good stay worth the penny.

Minimalism done well with clean simple luxuries. Kind service. Delicious healthful fare. Private rotenburo terrace bath was perfect morning to evening. Close enough for outings as taxis arrive quickly when summoned. 8th floor with lovely view for pre dinner craft gin or welcome tea were memorable.

Definitely will recommend Soki Atami! The facilities are great for a restful retreat. Breakfast was awesome and staff were friendly too. Special shoutout to Mika who assisted us with the Takuhaibin (luggage courier) when we had issues with the booking. Thank you Mika & Soki Atami for the hospitality!

The low rating is mainly due to the very disappointing dinner service.…When we initially booked the room, we were contemplating adding dinner. The hotel staff asked upon checking in, and since the hotel was situated in an inconvenient location, we decided to try it, despite the hefty 16500 Yen per person price tag. First of all, it was not Kaiseki, unfortunately. The portions were super small. Then they served a bowl of red beans, which we hilariously thought was finally a filler, and ate it. Turns out, the staff neglected to inform us that was only for decor, as they were very undercooked.Another relatively bigger dish was the rainbow trout. However, it took us half an hour to pick out all the bones in order to eat the meat… which wasn’t much. The soup that was free for children also ran out so they only had one bowl. For the price of over 16500 Yen per person, we definitely expected much much better. At least the room and staff were decent.
