I've been wanting to go to Himakajima for several years, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it's been difficult to travel outside of the prefecture, but now that the 7th wave has subsided a bit, my wife suggested we take a trip to Mie. My hometown is Hokuriku, so I thought, ``Well, if I do the Mikawa Bay circuit, I can go to Himakajima and also go to Mie!'' So I went there.Since it is a one-round course, it takes about 40 minutes by high-speed boat from Irago to reach the west port of Himakajima in the evening. It's about a 10 minute walk slowly. After enjoying the sunset on the coast, we headed back to our inn on foot. The last two minutes are a slope, and if you look at it from the entrance of the inn, you'll be entering from the back side. If you don't have too much luggage, I think you can enjoy the atmosphere of the island by walking, but we also offer transportation.Has it been about 10 years since the renewal? It's an inn, but it's absolutely clean, and there's a Daikin air conditioner and an air purifier with a humidifying function, so there's nothing to say about it. There is also a refrigerator in the room. Some rooms have toilets, so it's a good idea to indicate your preference when making a reservation.Dinner was in a private room separated from the banquet hall. I wanted to be covered in seafood, so I opted for the Hana course, and since the season had started, I ordered just one serving of fugu tessa. Well, there's nothing I can say about it, I was completely covered in it😁 Everything was really delicious, and you can tell by looking at the food that the food was prepared with care. It's definitely an inn. We had a great conversation with the hostess who served us, and I was happy when she told me I could take the two dishes I couldn't finish back to my room. Of course I got it.Normally, baths are separated by gender and can be taken at any time, but due to the coronavirus, we have changed to family baths (50 minutes). This is how you reserve your time when you check in.Although it was an artificial hot spring, the water was good and there was a washing area for four people, so it was relaxing.I was surprised that there was an air conditioner in the changing room. Surprisingly, there are many guesthouses that don't have it, so I think that's a good point.I wanted to sightsee the island before departure at 10am in the morning, so I am grateful that they accepted my request for the meal to be served a little earlier (at 7:30am). I usually only eat one breakfast meal, but I ate two full meals before checking out. The puffer fish from early next year was recommended 🐡 The Shirakoyaki is said to be exquisite! If I had to point out a difficulty, I would say that the stairs are a bit steep, so it might be difficult for people with walking problems. However, considering it's an inn on an island, it's normal, and there are rooms on the first floor, so I think it's a good idea to ask about it when making a reservation.Himakajima was really good. There are many factors that make me think that way, but the biggest factor is without a doubt that I'm really glad I chose this inn. I think so. I highly recommend it, and although it may be difficult to get a reservation, please do your best.
