A short stroll from the top base area, great choices of whisky. Only one beer on tap - Yebisu I think. Board games and good chat now owned by CAMP3 Snowboarding club.

I booked a room for four people. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is not big. However, there is a small bathhouse in the basement. You can reserve a time slot to use it.Breakfast is rich, but the quality is inconsistent. Sometimes you get burnt toast🤣🤣🤣I made a reservation for dinner at the same time as the reservation, but I didn’t know that the dinner was not in the hotel. I had to walk for ten minutes in the snow to eat at another active life hotel, which was not very friendly.There are not many choices for dinner, and it doesn't look like Asian food cooked by Asians...it's just not edible...(Almost all hotel staff are Australians)When we were leaving on the last day, the staff provided free service and took us and our luggage to the bus station, which was great.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago with my family and we were very satisfied with this cute little hotel! The hosts are extremely hardworking, helpful and thoughtful.They went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. None of us speak Japanese, but one of the managers, Boris, is an exceptional English communicator. He provided great advice, helped us organise a room change and was always offering to help us!

I randomly found a hotel on the Internet without any special expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised in the end🥰👍The hotel is very close to the ski resort, less than a minute's walk. The room was very clean and large, and most importantly, all the beds were very comfortable, allowing me to have a good rest. The person in charge is a foreigner and a Japanese. They are both very nice. Because I don’t understand English or Japanese, they also introduced it to me in detail very carefully. The five days I stayed here gave me a good memory🥰🥰🥰

Edited review as my issue has been resolved. Jan 2020: We stayed at Active Life last year, and the service has really been stepped up this year. At Hakken, we had our breakfast cooked by Chef Mehmet (check out Iron Chef Thailand), who also did the recipes for dinner at Active Life. Very thoughtful, and perfect before/after a day in the snow. Rooms were clean. 2 minute walk to chair lift 1. Free shuttle each day to different resorts. Free shuttle from/to Iiyama station. Free yoga. Free ski/snowboarding lessons. Free brekky. Dan and the crew looked after us - friendly, professional, and a good amount of communication. We're already talking about heading back next year!

A really lovely lodge, fantastic location, great hosts. The rooms were comfortable with private bathrooms. Lovely and warm and a nice communal lounge area to hang out in. The hosts we're awesome, giving lots of tips about the area and making us feel at home. We'll be back!
