Stayed here in 2020.It was a really wonderful experience. Not only the building, but also the host's hospitality was wonderful, and although the facilities were old, they were well-maintained and you could tell that they were taken care of.However, I don't think it's suitable for people who are looking for convenience. We are currently closed, so we don't know what will happen, but we are grateful for the wonderful time we had.

Usually I'm a family with three children, but since I was traveling alone, I thought it would be a place I wouldn't normally stay at, so I went to Howaso in Hagi. …

[My husband said that it would end with me]If you like history, it's worth staying here. The owner of the inn doesn't seem to be feeling well, so reservations cannot be made at this time, but this is definitely an inn I'd like to visit again. However, I understand that people are divided on this evaluation. To be honest, if you are looking for comfort in an inn, this inn is not suitable for you.The toilets are unisex, and the women's toilet is a Japanese-style toilet with a Western-style portable toilet installed (but I think the owner decided to make it Western-style). I visited in June before the coronavirus pandemic, and I was bitten by mosquitoes three times while I was sleeping. However, I would definitely like to stay there again. It was a former red-light district, and there are very few buildings in the country that have been left in such beautiful condition. That alone is worth staying for history buffs. And the host is the best. The bathroom doesn't have any heating or anything, so it gets cold quickly, so the owner seems to keep it warm by pouring hot water in the bathroom when it's time to enter. Also, if you ask them about the history of the inn, they will tell you many stories. She is a person who talks a lot about her husband, including anecdotes from when he was young. very interesting. But when I said that it would be great if it continued for a long time, he said, ``There are many people who want to take over this place, but I can't accept it, so if things continue like this, I'll be done with this place.'' I think it's something that should definitely be left behind, so I guess there's nothing we can do about it...

I stayed here the other day for a solo trip to Hagi. I've always wanted to stay here so I'm glad I was able to stay there! ! I was later than expected to arrive, so when I called, she kindly said, "Please be careful!" ☺️After checking in and talking to the host, I was surprised to find out that I was the only one who had reserved the place! ! You can listen to various stories, and if you tell us when you want to take a bath, he will make sure the temperature is just right for you! Because it was cold in the hallway leading to the changing room and toilet, they also had a stove...It was a nice inn that made me feel relieved! I was prepared for the building to be over 100 years old, but even though it was old, the rooms and the building were clean and shiny and shook when cars passed by, but it didn't bother me that much! ! (I can sleep anywhere lol) Thank you for the fun memories 🥰

I was thinking what a wonderful place it was, so I decided to make a reservation, but when I looked at the website, it said that they were taking a break and were sleeping right now.I heard from a review that a kind old man was doing it all by himself, so I decided to write a review in hopes that he would get better quickly and be able to stay overnight again. If we meet again, I would love to stay there!

wonderful. A red light district built 100 years ago during the Taisho era. This inn is provided by the owner who kept the building for about 50 years after the law was revised in 1955 and the red light district ceased to exist. I don't know how many more years we will be able to meet, but when I visited in early April, I was impressed by the thoughtfulness of the kerosene stove in the dressing room. The atmosphere where something seems like something is going to happen is also special. Please stop by.
