Seven nights into Hokkaido this was my best camping experience so far :D not only were there other people finally so I didn't feel afraid of being eaten by bears I thought the ocean breeze would make my tent harder to sleep in again but like the tent actually stayed wide because of the wind I think ! Also it was free which is nice , great views of the ocean , plenty of flat land to pitch a tent , and a wonderful town of Memambetsu which I loved cause it has a Vulpix and a staraptor in the JR station which was pretty cool :)

It was a quiet campsite by the lake. The restrooms weren't clean, but they seemed to be free of charge except during peak seasons (there was no reception or collection of money), so it was sufficient.There were a lot of mosquitoes, but they disappeared after I put on four mosquito repellent incense coils.No matter what I say, the scenery was beautiful.

I was looking for a pet-friendly campsite and found this place.It was the last Saturday and Sunday of the Obon holiday, but it wasn't crowded at all, the spots where you could set up a tent right next to the cars along the walkway were evenly filled, and there was no one in the middle of the site.Since it's by the lake, there were a lot of insects and, for some reason, a lot of flies, but it didn't feel damp and it was a pleasant site.There is a charge during the high season, but it is cheap at 300 yen per person.However, since I don't mind paying more, I would like to see more money spent on garbage collection and equipment maintenance.The toilets are clean and well-maintained, but they are obviously old.There is no end to my desires, but it was a campsite that I was satisfied with even in its current state.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy to rainy when I visited, but I think it would be a great view if it were sunny.I was left with a good impression of the friendliness of the receptionists and cleaning staff.However, a car with a Honshu license plate arrived after the reception had closed, set up the site, and took it down early the next morning, leaving the leftover meat under a tree.Did you pay? They started eating right next to people's tents at night...Leftover food left by another camper in another locationUser morale was low.There are no proper campers in Hokkaido who would leave leftover food outside.I know that I can't sleep because not only bears but also foxes are beating me up at night.I think it would be better for travelers from outside Hokkaido who do this kind of thing to just stay at a hotel and get things done without coming here.Since the campground is located close to tourist spots and the airport, I think it would be better to make them pay to throw away their trash.

The spacious view of Lake Abashiri spreads out next to a quiet forest where you can only hear the voices of birds, making you feel calm and comfortable. In summer in Hokkaido, it's hot under the sun, but once you're in the shade of the trees, you can feel the cool breeze and feel comfortable. Mornings and evenings are cool, and some days are even cold.
