I have not been here in several years, but I've stayed in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017. It is my favorite place to stay in Japan (and I've been across the country a few times!). The prices are extremely reasonable, and while it is not the most updated accommodation, it is about as 'authentic' as it gets without even trying to be.For English speakers with limited Japanese, don't be afraid to try. My first time I only spoke very broken Japanese and the hostess was incredibly accomodating. The food is great if they are doing dinner that night, and if you go around sansa odori you may catch drummers practicing at the fire station across the street.Cannot rate them highly enough - if you are traveling through Tohoku you should spend at least 1 day/2 nights here to see the city and get some good rest!

I stayed here during a touring trip to Tohoku.I was able to make a reservation on the same day, even though all the accommodations around Morioka Station were full in the midst of Golden Week.Although the building is a little old, the rooms were clean and the communal toilets were also clean. The bath was large enough for about 3 people, and if you waited a little longer, one person could occupy it. Although they did not provide meals, there were many restaurants nearby so this was not a problem. It was quiet at night and I slept well.Thank you very much for your help, the friendly hostess.

It was Golden Week, but I was looking for a place to stay in the evening from Koiwai Farm and was told on the phone that there was a vacant room, so I decided to stay.We stayed with four adults and one elementary school student. There were two rooms and a large room, both of which were available and I was able to choose whichever I liked. The building looks small from the outside, but it is deep and spacious.Parking is free and there are many restaurants nearby, including Lawson and a 24-hour supermarket, making it very convenient. The shared bathroom is also clean and easy to use.The landlady was also friendly and chatted with me about various things. There was no information about the accommodation on the website, etc., so I was a little worried before I stayed, but I was able to stay with peace of mind.I would like to use it again when I go to Morioka again.

Even during the Golden Week period, a room without meals is only 5,000 yen, which is reasonable. Perhaps because it is a little far from the station, it is relatively easy to reserve a room. There is wireless wifi and there are mangas so you won't get bored. It feels surprisingly atmospheric. If the hotels near the station are full or expensive, this is recommended.
