Incredibly relaxing stay, great getaway for families. Our boy loved the farm animals. Breakfast was homemade with love, delicious with a capital D.Kevin and Yukie were the perfect hosts, always there when we needed a hand with something. The traditional wooden bath was huge, easily fits 6 people, great for tall people. We'll definitely be back to stay.

The accommodation was found by my partner. Although it is located a little deep in the mountains, we are grateful for the wonderful location and meeting the wonderful owner couple!

This is a wonderful journey to stay here for one night. Both of Kevin & Yuki are so friendly and nice. We talked a lot of topics and shared different experience in traveling. If I could, I’ll give them over five stars to show how nice are they.

I will put 10 stars here if I can. Yuki and Kevin are the best host I’ve ever met . They welcome us with great hospitality and I feel like having a family here in Japan. So sad when we leave. They make sure you get everything you need and you can chat about anything with them. I have a chance to learn and help Yuki in the kitchen cooking Japanese food and learn so much with her! We stay for 2 nights and we wish we stay for more. Yuki’s cooking is amazing, so I recommend you to get the dinner while you’re there and Kevin’s beer is excellent! We’re glad we have the chance to try that haha!! The house is a beautiful Japanese old houses with sustainable aged timber infrastructure and still looking great to this days! Room quite spacious for 2 people or even more. We’re so grateful we stay here and hope we can come back one day.

When my boyfriend and I booked this place, we imagined we'd have a couple of tranquil days, relaxing in the Japanese countryside, in between exploring the busy city life. We got so much more than we expected. We received the kindness and friendship of Yukie and Kevin, the best hosts imaginable; a delicious and large breakfast; the best tips on where to go and what to do (with no other tourists around!); long talks in the evening, over a pitcher of beer and sake. Three nights was too short a stay. We will definitely visit again.

This was SO NICE! Yukie and Kevin welcomed us at their home very warmly. This Japanese-British couple is amazingly welcoming, kind and nice to speak to. We spend the evening by chatting about various topic and it was very valuable even in terms of discovering Japanese culture. Also they are extremely helpful and ready to provide you ideas and information about your next travel plans in Japan.Strongly recommended to everyone.(I was NOT asked to write this review, it's completely honest)

It's an old private house with a quiet and calm atmosphere, but the owners are the happy couple! It's very relaxing and makes you feel like you're at a relative's house.Breakfast is also excellent with fresh eggs from home-raised chickens! I want it to be rice with egg (^ ^)The room was also equipped with a corona-safe air purifier, and the water supply was taken care of, so you can feel safe and secure. There was also a goat and we played sumo lolIt was a valuable experience.Above all, the hospitality of the two of you is incredible ⭐︎It was such a fun time that I couldn't believe it was our first meeting! I want to come again soon! This is a guest house that gives you that feeling. Thank you very much☺︎

Set in the foothills of the national park, the location offers stunning views of the beautiful countryside, yet is only 10 minutes from the nearest train station, and 30 minutes from the historic city of Nara. A half hour cycle ride will take you via bamboo forests to three or four local temples, each seemingly more picturesque than the last. Kevin and his wife Yukae built the house together, with sustainability at the heart of their ethos, including solar water heaters, a pellet fuelled wood burner, vegetable garden, chickens, and two hilarious and very friendly goats. If you can persuade Yukae to cook for you, you are in for a delicious, authentic meal.
