It's a 1-2 minute walk from Sakurai Station, and they kindly accepted my walk-in reservation.It has been open for five periods since its construction 120 years ago (around 1903).I was able to relax and feel calm in the tatami room at a pure Japanese style inn.It's really amazing.I would definitely use it again.Thank you very much for this time.

Thank you very much for your help.It was a very nice inn, as mentioned in other people's reviews. 8,000 yen per person per night including half board is a bargain. The elegant landlady welcomed us. The restaurant is run by a mother and daughter, so the customer service was very polite and comfortable.I slept on a futon in a Japanese-style room, and while there are many lodgings where you'll end up with back pain (even at a high-class lodging), this lodging was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep.Although the meal we enjoyed was not particularly luxurious, it was very delicious, with a wide variety of items, and the menu was well thought out and carefully prepared. It's definitely a good deal with meals included. I stayed for 2 nights, but I was really looking forward to returning home. The white tablecloths in the dining room are also nice. I thought it would be nice to have a chopstick rest.I'm a fan of Yamanobe no Michi and plan on walking it from time to time, but Sakurai Tomari is convenient for me, so I'd definitely stay there again.It was truly an inn that I would like to return to again.

Built 120 years ago, this is a valuable, old-fashioned inn that still retains the atmosphere of the Taisho and Showa eras. It's well-maintained and well-maintained, giving it a clean feel.The food was simple, of good quality and taste, and I was completely satisfied.The staff at the inn were very kind and I could feel their consideration at every turn, which I was very grateful for.

Perfect for people who are tired of business hotels and want a change of scenery once in a while. The homemade breakfast is also much better than at a city hotel. Prices are also reasonable. This is a pure Japanese-style inn that I'm sure foreigners will enjoy as well.

We had a great stay. The master and his wife were showing superb hospitality, bath was large, futons were clean and comfy, meal was classical Japanese, generous.Very close to the train station.A good place to stay 48hrs while exploring the mountains around.

Although it is an old inn, it is well maintained and I was able to relax. The bath and toilet are separate, but I was able to take a bath as soon as I arrived at the accommodation. You can ask about the convenience of breakfast and dinner times. The side dishes are also slightly different each time. And, which is a blessing for smokers, ``smoking is allowed in the guest rooms.'' (Please be careful not to drop ash into the surrounding area.)Wi-Fi is also available.You must wash your laundry by hand, but there is also a space outside where you can dry it. You can also use the refrigerator for small items. (A 500ml plastic bottle would be fine)Also, the inn is a bit of a dungeon.There are also guidebooks, pamphlets, and bus and train timetables for the area around Sakurai City, so it's easy to make plans. I think it's perfect as a base for domestic backpacker trips, hiking, and long-term stays.Also, although I didn't go there this time, the sushi restaurant next to the hotel seemed to be popular with locals. Also, the coffee shop right next to the JR side exit was small, but the coffee was delicious lol. They seem to use different coffee beans every day, so I think you'll enjoy it even if you go every day. Also, for coffee lovers, you can take home a few cups of coffee.

It was like the setting of a novel by Seishi Yokomizo. The retro Showa era interior is old, but it's well kept and very clean. The old stairs are steep, so I'm worried about having to grab the handrail to get down. Although we arrived late at night, they met us outside and guided us to the parking lot in the dark. I felt very safe. It seems that the companions were quite reluctant to share the same bathroom at home. The breakfast was more than enough considering the price, and was the perfect way to start the day as we were planning to go sightseeing.

You can experience a Japanese inn from the Showa era at a very reasonable price.The walls are thin, so you can hear people talking in the room across from you, but that's part of the travel experience.The bath is a little larger than a home bath, but it has a Heisei-style reheating system, so the temperature is comfortable. The toilets are shared, but the Western-style ones have washlets.The hallways, water areas, rooms, etc. are all well-maintained and clean. There is an air conditioner, so it's never cold in winter. The futon is warm too.Wi-Fi is fast. However, there are only two outlets per room, so if multiple people are using it, you should bring a multi-plug USB charger so you can share the charger.You may think that it is not as comfortable as the latest business hotels, but this is a time capsule or a time machine accommodation, so consider that it is friendly to people of the 21st century. There are many expensive Japanese inns that are more stressful.There are two sushi restaurants, a Korean restaurant, a Japanese sake bar, and Shirokiya in the surrounding area, so eating out is also possible. However, the convenience store in front of the station closes at night.This is a Japanese inn heritage that I hope will last forever.
