Within minutes of arriving I always feel chilled out and relaxed. This beautiful house is situated in a lovely little village in an active farming area. There is no noise other than the air conditioning. The host is super friendly and helpful. A fantastic stay every time I have visited.

Spacious and nicely decorated house. I loved to sit on the comfortable wooden chair facing the field outside. I felt sorry that I was late for about 15min and it was raining. When I drove to the road outside, Mr Ikegawa was standing there holding umbrellas waiting for us. The place was nice and clean. If you want to spend some time just sitting there, reading, watching the scenery outside, it is the choice. If your itinerary is shopping and sightseeing and only want a place to sleep, you would waste your money. Mr Ikegawa is helpful and he helped me reserve a table at a nice restaurant. One thing is it's location. You better drive there and the parking space is about 5min walk from the house. That said, I still recommend it to people planning to spend days in Nara, not those just want to storm the city centre in a day.

The old house has been tastefully renovated, and the amenities are top-notch, making it a perfect stay. There are steps to get to the toilet and bathroom, so it's not suitable for elderly people with weak legs, but the rooms are spacious and the seasonal flowers are arranged to soothe your soul. Recommended.

With a beautiful courtyard, high ceilings, and whitewashed walls, you can relax and unwind in this modern, Japanese-style, minimalist, and extraordinary space. The hospitality is attentive. The Shigaraki ware bath is also very comfortable, and two or more people can take a bath at the same time.I enjoy Michelin-star Japanese food at night, Asuka hotpot, French and Italian cuisine unique to Asuka during the day, and traveling around historical sites on electric bicycles is a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enrich my soul, so I use it every year. You can also enjoy seasonal flowers and the sounds of birds.

This is an old folk house inn located in a corner of Asuka Village where you can already feel the atmosphere before you enter the inn.The manager who welcomed us was a customer service professional. The soft customer service and gentle tone made us feel very comfortable, and the distance between us made us feel very comfortable as we could feel that they valued our private time during our stay.Everywhere inside the inn was picturesque, and it was so beautiful that it really took my breath away.In addition, it was clean and full of hospitality, which made my heart feel warm and I had a happy time there. We would like to visit you again to see the scenery that changes depending on the season.Thank you very much for the wonderful time!

I used it for two nights and three days without meals. This is a very nice accommodation and I am very satisfied. The view of the rice fields from the chair facing the large window was amazing, and the white clover and white cabbage butterflies were dancing around the white clover and red lily in front of me.It was a very soothing view, and if I had time, I would sit there for a long time. You can see the garden and rice fields from your bedroom in the same direction, and when you wake up in the morning and raise the blind curtains a little, you can see butterflies dancing at eye level. The bathtub was a large circular bathtub that could accommodate two people, and was filled with hot water 24 hours a day, so I was able to take a bath at night or in the morning whenever I felt like it. Mr. Ikegawa, the staff member, was a very friendly person and a professional who knew how to entertain customers and maintain privacy. For dinner on the first night, we had Italian restaurant Da Terra (listed in the Michelin Guide). It was great to be able to enjoy vegetables from our own farm in a beautiful arrangement. On our second night, we enjoyed the most delicious food and sake at Japanese restaurant Nishimura (1 Michelin star). I actually made a reservation at Japanese restaurant Morimoto (which also has one Michelin star), but I made a mistake on the reservation date and caused some inconvenience, but I am grateful that Mr. Morimoto introduced me to his restaurant. In addition, the windows on the north and south sides of the rooms at Shinrajuku are wide open, allowing a pleasant breeze to pass through, so it was very pleasant to open the windows without turning on the air conditioner at this time of year (late May). I would definitely like to use it again in a nice weather season (maybe next fall?).

Mori Ra Juku, a house renovated from an old farmhouse 150 years ago.It turns out that the Japanese pronunciation of Asuka Village in the Nara Basin is the same as "Asuka", both pronounced ASUKA. Therefore, living here means living in the land of Asuka that Soga Mako chose as his capital, and living in the place where the Yamato nation began. The parking lot is next to a river facing the Aka Hill in the Joto Highlands. You need to walk along the path to the Mori Rajuku in the fields. The entire courtyard and building were renovated ten years ago. On the left side of the stone path is the entire house used for guest accommodation. On the right is the reception room. The structural beams of the building have not changed, and new wooden beams have been added for earthquake resistance. The white walls are deliberately whitewashed with putty using the old method, so they have a bit of original beauty. The bedroom used to be a farm tool room, the bathroom used to be a kitchen with a large stove, and the reception room used to be a cowshed. Between the room and the bathroom, the dirt road from the previous private house was preserved. Open the back door and you can directly walk into the fields. Traveling one step away, you can feel the reality and solidity of your feet stepping on the earth. Really considerate.Mr. Ikegawa, who is now in charge here, said that Mori Ra Juku now only receives one group of guests a day. In the morning, dandelions are blooming outside the window, and persimmons in the autumn fields can be picked and eaten directly... This is the original scenery of Japan. It really feels like living in a landscape painting and returning to your childhood hometown.

I was scared that the parking lot was far away and the road was narrow and dark, but it was worth a visit to see one old folk house per day.

Fantastic place and stay. The stay was immediately a fantastic one the moment the host greeted us. Extremely gracious and helpful. The environment itself is truly authentic and rustic. A very comfortable and pleasant stay.
