It is located away from the port and in an area rich in nature. It is convenient to have a rental car.Although it is an old building, it was very clean and I felt comfortable. The host was also very kind, prepared some local mackerel for us, and gave us a lot of recommendations about Yakushima. There was also a nice atmosphere where all the guests staying at the same time naturally gathered in the common living room and talked.I would definitely like to stay there again!

I can't understand why the rank is so high. The owner is not kind. I don't feel any Omitenashi here.I became very blue after arriving at this hostle because of her cold words. The price is extremely high compared to the same type of hostel in Yakushima. The average price is around 3500-4000 jpy.You can find a cleaner and reasonable price and of course Omotenashi one.You can't enter the hostel before 16:00pm in any case event if there is typhoon. In Japan, a lot of hostels or hotels allow you to enter only commonplace before checking time.I'm very confused because there is nothing around the hostel, especially after big Typhoone coming.I chose the place because of the customer comment, but it's not true, in my opinion at all. Also, you can't see the sunset near the hostel. The famous sunset beach is far from this area.Honestly, I don't know why the reviews are so high.It was a pity that I visited before checking in, but since all the shops on Yakushima were closed after the typhoon, I arrived early as there was no place to spend time after checking out of the previous day's hotel and before checking in.Many hotels and guesthouses allow you to wait in a common area before checking in, but with a clearly disgusted look on my face, I explained that it's common sense and other places don't do this either. After the typhoon, there was no food left all over the island, so when I asked for cup noodles with hot water, they grudgingly obliged, but I was told that I was not allowed to use them, including the common areas, until 4pm. To begin with, there was nothing around, shops in the downtown area were closed after the typhoon, bus times were limited, and the price was two to three times higher than other guesthouses, so I felt very disappointed. I chose it because of the good comments, but even though I was in trouble after the typhoon, there was no hospitality at all, and they just explained the rules of the accommodation, but I didn't hear anything about the good things about Yakushima.

This is a great guesthouse! My son and I stayed here for 5 nights and went to Isso beach most days. There's not much in this small village - but there is a bakery open every day, a shop that sells beer, and a small place only open for lunch. The rooms are comfortable and the host is lovely!

Beautiful home that is a little off the grid. Surrounded by the pure beauty the island has to offer. Perfect for a remote get away. The host there was also super nice and fun to talk to.
