We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, and the Japanese food was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner. The view from our room and the restaurant overlooking the mountains was simply breathtaking. The onsen experience was amazing, with both indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy. The entire hotel was modern and impeccably clean. As Western guests, we initially felt a bit unsure about how to eat some of the dishes and when or how to wear the yukata provided by the hotel. A clearer explanation from the staff at the beginning would have been helpful. English is not widely spoken, but with Google Translate, this wasn’t an issue at all.The hotel itself is traditional and located in a beautiful, remote area, offering a peaceful escape. It’s not a typical tourist spot, which adds to its charm.

revisitFirst time in 1 yearThere were no major changes, butThe weather was cloudy and rainy, so I couldn't see Mt. Ontake, so I wasn't able to go out and take a walk around it.You can't beat the weatherI was able to enjoy the seasonal ingredients as usual, but I also got a glimpse of the simpler aspects of the meal.I will post some images compared to one year ago.Overall, I think they are doing their best to keep accommodation costs down. It's been 3 years sinceWatching the ever-changing expression of Mt. Ontake is both moving and never boring.Unfortunately there was a full moon in the starry sky, which was disappointing. This is an inn with impressive food.Last time it had a dynamic feel, but this time I liked the delicate seasoning and polite feel.Of course, breakfast is also no-frills.The room was a standard Japanese style room and bed.I would like to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

This is a wonderful inn in a great location overlooking Mt. Ontake. It seems to be very popular, so when I made my reservation a week in advance, I couldn't stay for consecutive nights, but when I stayed there, I was so happy and satisfied that I didn't want to go home (lol)This is a semi-experience-based place, rather than staying at a luxury inn and enjoying the facilities and sophisticated hospitality. A place where you can lie down and look at the starry sky, and feel free to create your own memorable stay. For some reason, the high-quality baths are reserved for private use every time I go, and the food is great! The wine in the cozy lounge is delicious, and you can chat with people from other countries, making you want to stay forever. What was disappointing was that the picnic snacks were like 100 yen, the staff seemed to be working hard, and I wish foreign guests had written the explanation of the meals in English in advance. ” I thought it would be nice to not be left alone (half of the guests were foreigners, so...wow, I want to work there too!)However, everyone seemed to be smiling and enjoying their stay, so I thought it was a great place to stay!I'll come back later! thank you very much.

During our tour of Japan we stayed in this typical ryokan in March. Our room had a spacious terrace with a private tented sauna and hot tub. …

This must have been the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The hotel employees were incredibly friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. The “Onsen” were really clean, and there was plenty of space. The rooms were beautiful and quite spacious as well. The area surrounding the hotel is lovely, and taking a walk is really convenient. Upon departure, we made a mistake thinking a taxi had already been called, but it hadn’t. The hotel staff instantly came to the rescue and drove us to the station themselves, ensuring we caught our train. I certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, calming stay!
