Absolutely perfect. Our family of 4 (2 adults 2 teens) stayed comfortably for 2 nights on one floor of the bungalow. We brought groceries for simple meals/snacks and loved using the Shukoodo to have breakfast and spend time. We could have easily used the facilities to make a full meal but preferred to explore the restaurants in the area.Hamish and his family were very friendly and helpful whenever we reached out.We chose to visit Asobi between a visit to Tokyo and Kyoto. It was the perfect place for us to rest and enjoy the area.We loved walking around the area, enjoyed dinners at nearby restaurants and spent the days at the beach. As tourists from Canada, we found that renting a car was very helpful to get there and back and so we could get around the area with ease. This visit was a highlight of our trip to Japan. Incredible.

After spending time in Tokyo and Kyoto a few days at Asobi Lodge gave my family time to relax and slow down before moving on. We loved it here and were well looked after by Nora and Hamish in accommodation that has kept a traditional feel with everything modern we needed. We’ve spoken to many fellow visitors who had not considered a break by the coast whilst on holiday to Japan but I really recommend it. The coastline is stunning and Asobi Lodge is comfortable and perfectly located.

Hamish is super-friendly and very helpful with information about sightseeing and places to eat etc. The accommodation is nicely restored with traditional materials and furniture but also has all modern conveniences. There is plenty of parking at the property. Kyotango is a wonderfully peaceful and pretty corner of Japan where you can chill out at one of the many beaches or enjoy the fantastic coastal scenery.
