Julian's

Before I start with the positives, let me just go over with the negatives (there aren't many at all)Be aware, that if you don't own a car, your only ways of getting up to Julian's is by their shuttle bus service or a 1.5h - 2 hours hike along the mainroad that has a sidewalk (which was mostly overgrown with weeds and bushes though).We decided to hike up because the weather wasn't too bad and overall it wasn't so great. Mainly because its on a main road. You will have some spots to check out like a horse farm or cheescake factory, but thats it.They offer a shuttle service for 500yen which I highly recommend using.Anyway, everything else was exceptional. We wanted to do a BBQ, so we bought some meat from a store close to Kobuchizawa and grilled it there. The BBQ costs 1500yen per person and they give you some delicious potatoe and coleslaw salad plus some very good chicken and other veggies with a great Brazilian sauce (sorry, forgot the name of it).You can get a bottle of wine for 750yen as well.Plus, we got a complimentary ticket to the close-by Onsen which was great too.The rooms aren't big, but you will only be sleeping there and spending the rest of the time in the dining or living room playing board games or watching the fish.The breakfast was excellent too. Some eggs, bread, bacon and sausages.We had a blast talking to the hosts and they couldn't be any friendlier.I loved every second of it.One thing to note: they do not accept credit cards - only cash. I would recommend to start accepting cards and or other digital payments because it is quite convenient for guests.I totally recommend this place!

Very warm welcome, very cozy atmosphere and hearty breakfast! A small suggestion for improvement: we would have liked slightly more blackout curtains. A detail !

Very helpful and friendly Amercian host. I travelled by train along to ride at Fujimi bike park. Katrina collected me from the station, drove me to the bike park the next morning, let me take a shower at their b&b before dropping me back at the station. Made my trip very easy. Thank you very much.

Friendly couple with a homey place to hang out if you love Japanese countryside. Nearby ski and snowboarding slopes are great!
