The weather was sunny and the sea of clouds seen from the observation deck was very beautiful.At night, the sky was full of stars and I even saw shooting stars twice!

If you're lucky, around September, you'll be able to see a sea of clouds on the wooden deck next to the reception desk around 5am.If you want to enjoy the starry sky mainly, you may not need a solo site.For food, there was a roadside station nearby, and the bakery was famous.

This is a campsite that I've been interested in for a while. Last fall, my child became unwell on the way and I had to cancel on the day of the trip, so I stayed overnight as revenge.It was quiet, probably because it was a weekday, so I was able to camp and enjoy the nature of the highlands.I also ate the venison sausage that was sold in the administration building, grilled just as the manager said, without adding anything, and it was delicious.It's mainly winter camping, so next time I would like to visit in the fall before it closes for the winter.

I used it at the end of August 2024. It was a very hot day in the lower part of the country, with temperatures reaching nearly 35 degrees Celsius, but the site was very comfortable with a maximum temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius. It was comfortable at around 15-18 degrees Celsius in the mornings and evenings (I forgot to use a thermometer, so it's just a feeling). I used site A. We pitched a tent on the back side, with one site on the slope of the mountain and two sites on the back side across the mountain road. However, I still enjoyed the spectacular view. Unfortunately, there were a lot of clouds on the second morning, so we couldn't see the sunrise, which is one of the fun things to do.

I stayed for 2 nights on a weekday in early August. I made a reservation, but it was so crowded that I didn't have to make a reservation. Stayed overnight in a tent next to the car at the auto site. It's amazing to be able to see so many starry skies. When I woke up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, there was a deer right there. If you are good at driving, you will not have any problem passing each other on the mountain road. The only things you can buy at Raichoso are firewood and bug spray. It is necessary to bring water. Mosquito coils and insect repellent are a must as there are a lot of horseflies throughout the day.

I wanted to bring my car in, so I used the auto site.On the road from the administration building to the site, low-height cars will definitely rub their stomachs.There is no electricity on site and there is no electricity in the toilets.Although it was early August, the tap water was cold and it got cold at night.The nearest supermarket is only a 40 minute drive down Kunekune Road. Almost nothing is sold locally.Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy, but it was still much more beautiful than the city.The shower costs 100 yen and 2 minutes, so I'm in a hurry. Also, it was a shame that it was far from the auto site. (Why is the price higher on Autosite?)I am new to camping and was a little unprepared, but I would like to prepare carefully and try again.

I used Autosite.This is a cool campsite due to its high altitude.If it's sunny, the view is great.The road from the reception to the auto site is not good. You don't need a 4WD to go, but you'll definitely get a belly rub. Go in a car with high ground clearance. If you go to the auto site, you'll be fine.The toilet has been renovated and is now clean, but there is no light. It's fine during the day, but be sure to bring a light at night.
