TL;DR: Goestlie is hands down the best place I’ve stayed in Bali. It’s centrally located in Canggu, offering easy access to the beach, bars, and restaurants, yet remains a quiet, oasis-like retreat. The community vibe is unmatched, thanks to the friendly hosts who foster connections among guests. The rooms are spotless, the staff is welcoming, and the amenities are excellent, including a clean pool, well-equipped kitchen, and fast, reliable Wi-Fi. I’ve renewed my stay and couldn’t imagine a better home base. Highly recommended!–––––––––I have been living at Goestlie for over a month now, and let me be honest, it is by far the best place I have stayed in Bali. I’ve tried the expensive villas, the touristy hotels, and the incredibly cheap hostels. While the villas offered a more lush and luxurious stay and the hostels were easier on the wallet, none of them come close to matching the experience at Goestlie. In fact, I might even dare to say they’re not even in the same league..Goestlie offers a sense of community that is truly rare and should not be taken for granted. The hosts, Tian and Meydio, gently encourage you to interact with others, and before you know it, you’ll have coffee and sunset buddies. Besides their friendly nudges, the hosts also organize a monthly get-together, which further fosters a strong sense of belonging among guests..The location is another standout feature of Goestlie. It’s centrally located, making it easy to reach the beach, bars, and restaurants. Despite being so close to the action, the property is surprisingly quiet and feels like a secluded oasis. Tucked away behind gates, it offers a peaceful retreat just meters away from the busy streets of Canggu. This combination of convenience and tranquility is truly unique..The rooms are kept spotless by the attentive staff. After experiencing their level of care, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to sleep in a bed that hasn’t been made up by them first. The staff is not only efficient but also incredibly friendly, always greeting you with big smiles whenever you cross paths. Their presence on the premises also adds to the sense of security, making you feel confident that they’ve got everything covered, no matter what might happen..The overall amenities at Goestlie are excellent. There’s a well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials, a pool that’s kept clean and inviting, tables for working, and numerous cozy nooks for reading. The rooms are in great condition and are constantly being improved, ensuring that the standards remain high. The Wi-Fi is also very stable and fast—I had no trouble binge-watching my favorite TV shows or keeping in touch with friends and family back home..If you’re looking for local tips, I highly recommend starting your day with a visit to Milk, a charming café right across from Goestlie. Almost every morning, I head over for my morning coffee—it really is bliss..I’ve recently renewed my stay for another month and will likely extend for the remainder of my time in Bali. I honestly couldn’t think of a better home base. The Google reviews are overwhelmingly positive, which I understand can be a bit daunting, but I have to admit—every single five-star review is well-deserved.
